Red Dead Redemption Is Now On PS Now

Yay, I guess.

When Microsoft put Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One via their Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, there was a lot of rejoicing and celebration. Sales of Red Dead Redemption saw spike, and the game’s success was used to prove that backwards compatibility as feature has merit.

Somehow, I doubt that there will be that kind of jubilation at this development, but here goes- Red Dead Redemption is now available to play on PS Now, along with Undead Nightmare. This means that PS Now subscribers can use the game streaming service to play Red Dead on their PS4, PS3, PS Vita, PC, and certain models of TVs.

Of course, this would mean having to subscribe to PS Now, play games over the internet, potentially run into latency or data caps, and having to be always online just to play the game anyway. I think PS Now has merit as an idea, but I still don’t like it as a substitute to traditional backwards compatibility.
