While Sony’s first-party studios take the time to cook up whatever their next wave of flagship releases will look like, PlayStation Studios is bringing exclusive titles from partner studios to plug the gaps, with next in line being Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty developer Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin. Ahead of the action RPG’s imminent release, Sony has released a part-live action launch trailer. Check it out below.
Rise of the Ronin is Team Ninja’s first open world game. Set in late 19th century Japan, it depicts the Boshin war in the final years of the Edo period, with players playing as ronin caught between the shogunate and rebel factions displeased with growing Western influences in Japan. Rise of the Ronin is being billed as a more approachable experience than Team Ninja’s recent titles (with multiple difficulty options included). Four-player co-op is also supported.
