If you haven’t heard already, Psyonix’s Rocket League is popular. Like, really popular. Nearly everyone who’s gotten into it swears by its amazing gameplay and it’s taken off very well on both the PS4 and PC despite initial issues.
However, Psyonix recently revealed new milestone for the game as it hit five million downloads worldwide since its launch on July 7th. Rocket League is available a free game for PlayStation Plus subscribers on the PS4 but it was unknown just how well the game performed on the console till now. Steamspy, which tracks ownership statistics on Steam, has revealed that 500,000 players have the game on Steam. Suffice to say that most Rocket League players on PS4.
Rocket League initially launched with some issues on the PS4, including a rendering problem in the interface that would cause overheating and trigger the console’s fan. Those problems are being addressed in the game’s upcoming 1.03 patch so stay tuned for more details on the same.
