Resume leaks are the best, especially when you find some things in LinkedIn that weren’t supposed to be found, and the removal of said data from the resume also hints that it’s probably true. Sometimes game studios list their requirements on their official site or via a third-party site and based on the job description, you can probably come at a conclusion about what they’re working on.
One such job description came from Rockstar Games, you know, the studio behind GTA 5 that is scheduled to release next year, or probably on June 19 if the rumours are correct.
They mention that they are “seeking an experienced programmer to focus on core engine development.”
“This is an exciting opportunity to develop cutting-edge architectures and high performance systems for current and next-gen platforms.”
By next-gen platforms they definitely don’t mean the Wii U, since GTA 5 isn’t confirmed to be on the system yet. So they are most probably talking about Sony and Microsoft’s next-gen platforms, i.e., the PS4 and Xbox 720.
It probably could be a next-gen GTA or a next-gen Red Dead Redemption. Although, we really don’t know what Rockstar is planning for now.
Thanks, Nowgamer.
