I placed my ‘pre-order’ for a copy at Target about a month ago (mid-April). When you pre-order a game at Target, you basically get a $5 ‘gift card’ that you hold onto and redeem when you pick up your game. The date on the card for the release is “5/31/2015”.

The thing about this is that Splatoon comes in May. Who knows, Splatoon might be like May 1st or 8th, and then XCX comes at the end of the month? That’d be pretty awesome.

Nintendo typically always releases games on Sunday, that said, Target didn’t leak a release date for this game. Retailers make up dates all of the time. Don’t read anything into this, it’s not news. I would be surprised if we got Xenoblade Chronicles X in America this year. Nintendo said the game would be out in 2015, but they didn’t say that would be worldwide. All of their marketing has been focused entirely on Japan.

It can’t be May 31 because that’s a Sunday 😀 but May 29 would be good because it is around this date and a Friday.
