Rumour: Sony to release PS4 and PlayStation Vita Bundle for $500

Scheduled for "the end of this year" apparently.

According to Inside Gaming Daily, which has spoken with a “well-placed anonymous source”, Sony may be set to introduce a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita bundle after the release of the next generation console in the Holiday season. This bundle will also apparently be available at “the end of the year” and will retail for “around $500”.

The PlayStation Vita, despite not selling that well around the world, has been on a bit of an upswing after Sony announced that it could be used with the PlayStation 4 for remote play. This means you could take your PS4 games anywhere you want, playing them on the Vita. Sony had also confirmed that all PS4 games, except those which required the PS Eye, would support Remote Play.

Would it be possible that Sony would push for this feature so soon, not waiting to see what consumers take to most with the new console? As nifty Remote Play sounds, we’re not quite sure it’s the reason for the excessive demand for the next-gen console.

Also consider that the Vita currently retails for $249.99 while the PS4 will cost $399.99. Does it really make sense to have a bundle for around $500? As usual, take this with a grain of salt, but it would be interesting to see such a bundle in the future.
