SAND LAND Project Announced by Bandai Namco, More Details Coming December 17th

An original work by Akira Toriyama, the title is set in a desert world suffering from extreme water shortage, with humans and demons working together.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a new title, SAND LAND project. It’s based on an original short manga series by Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball fame and takes place in a desert world. Check out the first teaser trailer below.

The world is barren due to an extreme water shortage, and humans and demons have allied. The teaser sees a demonic character staring wistfully off into the distance, wondering why the world became like this. In a press release, Bandai Namco revealed that the story centers on the prince of demons, Beelzebub, who teams with a sheriff named Rao. The two work together to find the Phantom Lake, located somewhere in the wasteland.

More information on the project will be revealed on December 17th, but considering the proximity of the reveal near The Game Awards, it wouldn’t be strange to see it make an appearance.

As for other announcements that Bandai Namco could make at today’s show, a trademark for Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn was discovered, which could be new expansion. It’s interesting because producer Yusuke Tomiwaza previously said there wouldn’t be a sequel or expansion to the title. Stay tuned for potentially more details today.
