Sea of Thieves Beta Facing Issues, Rare Currently Investigating

Some Xbox One and Windows 10 players can't access the beta despite it being "live".

Rare’s closed beta for Sea of Thieves is set to go live today. Or rather, it was “live” as of a few hours ago. Players on the game’s sub-Reddit have reported their inability to play the beta. This is manifested in the “You’re Too Early” message on Xbox One.

The developer acknowledges the issues and says it’s investigating. One method to gain closed beta access is by preordering the game and Rare is currently looking into possible issues for Xbox One and Windows 10 consumers who preordered.

In the meantime, release notes for the latest closed beta are available. Xbox One players will need to download 7.40 GB while Windows 10 users required a 13.30 GB download. There’s only one Trading Company available (the Gold Hoarders) and changes have been made to the progression and economy. If journeys turn out to be longer, shop prices doubled to account for more rewards or cursed chests appearing more abundantly (or less), then just remember that it’s a beta.

Sea of Thieves is currently slated to release on March 20th for Xbox One and Windows 10.
