Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter Campaign Begins

Precursor Games has taken to Kickstarter to raise money for the Eternal Darkness successor.

Precursor Games, the studio composed of ex-Silicon Knights developers including the ever lovable Denis Dyack, has announced a second crowd-funding campaign for the upcoming Shadow of the Eternals, in development for Wii U and PC. The first campaign began on the developer’s site.

The developer is currently looking to raise $1.35 million by June 19th. This is apparently part of the original $1.5 million goal, but Precursor has stated that it will run both campaigns in parallel. Before launching the Kickstarter, the developer had already $150,000. As of now, 556 backers have raised $30,582 of the $1,350,000 required on Kickstarter.

Due to non-refundable terms, a Kickstarter campaign seems like a good idea – even if it was only launched “due to overwhelming popular demand.” Or maybe they really did underestimate the number of fans in the US/UK who wanted to see a sequel.

Carrying on from Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, Shadow of the Eternals will take place over 12 episodes and concentrate on a detective investigating a brutal massacre wherein the survivors have no memory of the events.
