Shadowrun Returns Berlin DLC Delayed, Will Now be “Modest-Sized Campaign”

New enemies, a new city and new weapons along with a more open ended story to come.

Harebrained Schemes, whose Kickstarter-funded tactical RPG Shadowrun Returns hit the market not too long ago, has announced the delay of the Berlin DLC for the game. It will now be releasing on January 2014.

However, the delay was made to make the DLC even bigger than before. The developer stated as much on its official forums and that the DLC would now be a “modest-sized campaign” with a more flexible main story where you can choose the factions you work with and the runs to complete first. There will also be a new European city with a whole new cast of characters, including more complex NPC runners.

The Physical Adept gameplay will also be improved, and new weapons, portraits, music, enemies and outfits will be added to the mix. There will also be more magical creatures and a story that takes themes form the Shadowrun: Germany sourcebook.

“In addition, for the GMs out there, all of the environments and characters that we add in Berlin will also be available in the Shadowrun Returns Editor for anyone who has the Berlin campaign installed.”
