Though Atlus has been busy with titles like Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 Golden on Steam, one question has been on fans’ minds: What happened to Shin Megami Tensei V? As it turns out, the role-playing game is alive and well with a new trailer revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct mini. Check it out below.
Showcasing what seems to be the protagonist, the world is crumbling and chaos is overtaking everything. Along with numerous demons, the hero seems like they’ll make a contract of sorts, perhaps to fight back. It’s hard to say what the story is at this point but if this footage was all in-game, then Shin Megami Tensei V is shaping up very well.
Even better, there’s a release window of sorts. The RPG will be out in 2021 for Nintendo Switch and is planned to have a simultaneous global launch. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for additional details so stay tuned in the coming months.
