Shovel Knight Studio Publishing New Title, Reveal at PAX East

First teaser image seems to indicate a shinobi in a post-apocalyptic world.

Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games is still busy working on King of Cards and Shovel Knight Showdown, which were recently delayed by “several months”. However, at PAX East 2019, it will showcase a new title that will be published under its banner. Check out the teaser image above.

At first glance, we’d think this is a tribute to Sega’s Shinobi, if not a throwback to popular ninja titles like Tecmo’s Ninja Gaiden on the NES. Given the retro bent of Shovel Knight, it would make sense. We’ll have to wait until March 28th to 31st for PAX East to find out.

Of course, there’s more news to be had at PAX East. Gearbox Software has teased its next game, which seems to be Borderlands 3, while also seemingly hinting at some new version of Borderlands 2 (perhaps port for Nintendo Switch). There have also been some indications that the next Borderlands could release for the Epic Games Store, if not remain exclusive to it. Stay tuned for more details from PAX East in the coming weeks.
