Simplygon today announced that it would be collaborating with Ubisoft to enable and optimise digital asset creation. Simpleton, the industry’s leading provider of automatic 3D optimization solutions for digital content creation, announced today with Ubisoft that the latter would be using Simpleton to optimise art assets and technology to achieve efficient AAA game development.
Among the games that were announced to be utilizing Simplygon’s technology were the next instalments of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and other unannounced titles that are still in development.
“Ubisoft is known for creating incredible entertainment experiences,These games require hundreds of thousands of hours of artist time creating incredible imagery that brings Ubisoft’s games to life. We know Simplygon will greatly reduce that. It gives Ubisoft the ability to deliver even greater graphics, while reducing costs and ensuring the fans receive the most immersive experience possible on today’s leading platforms.”
For Ubisoft, which utilises a common development pipeline across all of its major games, this should indeed be a boon to development, saving them loads of resources and manpower. Hopefully, they can put all of that towards improving their game design.
