Single Player Mode and Server Hosting Coming to DayZ

Loads of requested features, coming at last.

It’s still not even in beta, but it remains one of the biggest games in the world. Speaking at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2015 today, Bohemia Interactive’s Brian Hicks, project lead on DayZ, confirmed that the team was currently working on a single player mode for the game. This would enable players to play the title offline and by themselves, and also allow modders to check their mods in local sessions. Hicks also confirmed that DayZ will be fully integrated with the Steam Workshop, and feature support for free mods.

If all of this wasn’t enough, Hicks also confirmed that players would soon be getting the ability to host their own servers very soon- this is one of the things that has made, for example, Counter Strike a mainstay of PC gaming for as long as it has been, so it is certainly very big news.

Unfortunately, we got no release dates for either these features, or the game itself. If that changes any time soon, we will let you know. Till then, stay tuned.
