Sledgehammer Games has recently announced the opening of a new studio based out of Guildford, UK. As revealed in a recent blog post, the new studio will be assisting the team with development of the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard.
In addition to providing development support for the game’s live seasons, the UK studio will also play an important role in the development of future projects from the studio (which may or may not be direct sequels to Vanguard). There are a number of new openings for the studio as well, so interested applicants should definitely take a look.
This comes shortly after Infinity Ward opened new studio in Austin. The Call of Duty brand has been growing steadily, and the burden of supporting a free-to-play battle royale title alongside supporting the traditional annual entry and developing for the next year has proven to be strenuous for Activision’s subsidiaries. Recently, the Call of Duty publisher revealed that all of its core studios are now working on the darling franchise.
