SCEA’s Scott Rohde explained in a post press conference interview with Geoff Keighley why it took them so long to reveal The Last Guardian. “It has been a very long time but I hope it was worth it. It was probably my most exciting moment of the show. I got goosebumps. Sometimes it takes a long time to realize a vision and I think it’s really important to recognize that. At PlayStation it’s really important to us. We are not just going to kick out a game just because it has been promised or whatever but the vision has to stay true and this is the best evidence of that.”
Rohde also stated that the Uncharted collection is one of PlayStation’s main focus for 2015. “That is one of the big focuses, yes for sure. We are really excited about that. We are doing a lot of work to make sure that it’s not just a ‘hey, we are just updating this game’. We are actually going back and making sure that whatever we learn over the last six to seven years of development are applied to all three. It makes a big difference.”
He also revealed that the Uncharted 4 demo is actually 15 minutes long and the remaining seven and a half minutes is actually better than what Sony showcased during its press conference.
“You actually have to come to the booth to see the full 15 minute demo. It’s amazing, really amazing. That team is amazing and again I can’t emphasize that the seven and half minute that people saw at the press conference was escalating like this, it just keeps going for next seven and a half minutes.”
