Sony Mandating PS Vita Remote Play For All PlayStation 4 Titles

Only games that use the PS4 Eyes are exempt from the rule, according to a new report.

The Digital Foundry has recently posted a report from a trusted PlayStation 4 developer with an accurate track record which states that Sony has mandated for all upcoming PlayStation 4 titles to support Remote Play on the console. The only titles that won’t have to implement this feature are those which require the PS4 Eye to function.

We already know that Remote Play was coming to the PlayStation 4 already, with chief system architect Mark Cerny stating as much during Sony’s official reveal of the console. But mandatory implementation is something new. Under these new rules, even third party titles like Watch_Dogs, Diablo 3, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Wolfenstein: The New order will support Remote Play.

Sony hasn’t explicitly commented on the matter, but it’s more than possible that it’s true. Remember: This is a company that mandated developers to support the ill-fated SixAxis on the PlayStation 3 despite its gimmicky nature. We’ll learn more about which game support Remote Play as time goes by.
