Sony Offering PS Plus Extensions To Compensate For PSN Outage

Sony doing right by their customers.

Remember the PSN outage, when the network unexpectedly went down for the better part of a day two weeks ago? Remember how Sony promised that they would compensate their users for that? They’ve made good on their word, and they are now offering 1-day PS Plus extensions to all subscribers to make up for the day lost because of the outage.

If you are subscribed to PS Plus, make sure to check your email, where you should have a message from Sony, giving you a code which lets you extend your PS Plus subscription by a day. The code is good for redemption until March 31 of this year.

“Due to the recent PlayStation Network interruption we are giving you a 1-DAY extension to your PlayStation Plus membership,” Sony’s email reads. “The extension will be applied to the end of your current membership. This applies to all accounts that had an active PlayStation Plus membership on January 4, 2016.”

I mean, considering that the outage was for less than a full day, I honestly would have been fine with just an apology and nothing more in the end, but it’s good on Sony to actually give me back my lost day, too. That’s really good on them.
