The PlayStation Vita may always be play second fiddle to the Nintendo 3DS and wallow in a handful of releases each year but according to Sony, stock is incredibly short in North America. This includes online and store retail, with the Borderlands 2 bundle dominating sales.
Speaking to Polygon, a Sony representative stated that, “We’re seeing healthy consumer demand for PS Vita globally, particularly in markets like Japan.
“The U.S. launch of the slimmer and lighter PS Vita has generated strong interest among gamers, and we’re working to replenish supply here to ensure continued momentum leading into the holidays.”
Another notable PS Vita release was Child of Light, with Minecraft soon to arrive in the coming months. As of now, Sony is more interested in using the Vita as a means of Remote Play for the PS4. If this success continues, will we see more AAA titles? Here’s hoping. Stay tuned for more details.
