Sony’s Yoshida Thinks 2016 Will Be A Good Year To Have a PS4

There's a rush of big games coming in 2016 according to Yoshida.

Having previously said that there are so many games coming for the PS4 that it’s hard to keep track, Sony’s Shu Yoshida doubled down on those comments earlier this week by claiming that he believes 2016 is good year to own a PS4. Yoshida-san recently gave an interview to 4Gamer where he talked about his excitement for 2016, especially when it comes to big titles.

“2016 marks an unprecedented rush of big titles for PS4. It’s also the year of the long-awaited launch of PlayStation VR. It’s the year PS4 users, and those who are on the fence on whether to buy it will absolutely think “it’s good to have a PS4.” Please look forward to it.”

While those who own a PS4 and are looking at the potential releases of games such as Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian and Horizon: Zero Dawn all in the same year know 2016 could be fantastic, Yoshida-san seemed to point to VR as his big focus, without specifically saying Virtual Reality was his focus. Yoshida-san talked about the fact that Yoshihito Kondo was a person that drew his attention. Kondo is from Occulus Japan and has done quite a bit of work in the virtual reality realm.

Yoshida-san said the VR community is a small one with those that are in it are quite enthusiastic about what VR can offer. Teamed with what we know or think we know about what’s coming in 2016 on the PS4, the addition of very good VR games will only make the lineup for 2016 stronger. Here’s hoping Shu Yoshida is right.
