People have been curious about what sort of a narrative the upcoming Insomniac developed PS4 exclusive Spider-Man will feature, and it looks like both the developers and Marvel have given the story aspects of the game a lot of thought. And the story, it seems, will be one that will that tackle action beats while also having some personal stakes.
In the game’s E3 Coliseum panel, Marvel Games’ Bill Rosemann, the game’s lead writer Jon Paquette, and the creative director Bryan Intihar, all spoke about the sort of story they are going to try and tell with Spider-Man. Apparently, the story will place significant focus on Peter Parker as well, and not just on his superhero alter ego, with the worlds of both sides of his life colliding. The villain, for instance, is someone who is involved in some capacity in Peter’s personal life as well, and as such, the story will have gravity for both sides of his life.
According to the team working on the game, the best Spider-Man stories are the one that see the life of Spider-Man intertwining with that of Peter Parker, and frankly, we agree. It really sounds like Insomniac have nailed what it is that a game needs to do to be a good Spider-Man game, and we can’t wait to see more. We’re sure you can’t either, so stay tuned to GamingBolt and we’ll keep bringing more updates your way.
