Splatoon Gets All New Tower Control Mode

Nintendo continues to bolster up Splatoon.

Ahead of the very first SplatFest event that is scheduled to be held this weekend, Nintendo has gone ahead and added a brand new mode to their popular third person shooter. Tower Controlwill be added this Thursday, introducing an all-new mode where two teams of four will fight for a central tower, the tower moving from one side of the map to another as different teams control it.

Tower Control is currently the third major mode present in the game (outside of the single player and local co-op modes), and the second addition- the other online modes include the Unranked Turf Wars, and the Ranked SplatZone battles. Unlike the other two, which see gameplay that is fairly similar (though SplatZone is a fair bit more strategic than Turf Wars), this one promises to be the most different addition to Splatoon’s mode roster yet.

Splatoon is available on the Nintendo Wii U exclusively; as Nintendo’s first major new internally developed retail IP in over a decade, it has been certifiable hit.
