Square Enix Makes Changes To Organisation With Current Two Directors Resigning And Eight New Directors Appointed

The changes have been so as to be able to "quickly respond to changes coming in this major period."

Square Enix has announced some changes that they are making to their organisation, with two of their current directors set to resign on March 31. Along with this, eight new directors will step in and assume their responsibilities starting on April 1. These eight directors who had previously served as ‘Executive Officers’ will now adopt the position of ‘Director and Executive Officer’.

The two directors who will be resigning are Keiji Honda and Yukinobu Chida. The changes have been made so as to be able to “quickly respond to changes coming in this major period”. The statement reads as follows, “In April 2015, we introduced the executive officer system to our company in attempt to construct a system that strengthens administrative performance and flexibly implements decision-making in order to quickly respond to the rapidly changing business environment. At this time, we will review the composition of the board of directors in order to more quickly respond to the changes coming in this major period, and aim to further strengthen our business foundation.”

Additionally, Yousuke Matsuda will continue in his role as the president and representative director of the company. The eight new directors are Yoshinori Kitase, Yousuke Saito, Michihiro Sasaki, Hirokazu Nishikado, Shinji Hashimoto, Yuu Miyake, Naoki Yoshida, and Kazuharu Watanabe. A number of these people also act as Executive Officers and Division Managers with some being in charge of brands such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
