Square Enix talk about Versus XIII and FFVII remake

With so many questions lately regarding the upcoming (as of now) PS3 exclusive, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and what many fans around the world are still eagerly waiting for, a Final Fantasy VII remake, Square Enix has finally cleared some things up.

Final Fantasy XIII was only recently released in Korea, and due to that Square held a rountable interview session with the FFXIII producer Yoshinori Kitase, and the Square Enix chief Twitter person Shinji Hashimoto on May 28, and a Korean gaming website called gameshot interviewed them.

When asked about Versus XIII, they said that, “It’s taking some time, but development is progressing well. We plan on showing it at the appropriate time. We have the FFXIII localization and FFXIV, so I believe it will come after that.”

And when they got the usual question about the remake of FFVII, they said, “We’ve gotten this question a lot from many countries (laughs). To make FFXIII at this level of quality, it took us 3 to 4 years. If we were to make FFVII in the same style of FFXIII, it would take 10 times as long, so it would be difficult to take it up immediately. However, we always keep in mind how often this is requested.”

“We always keep in mind how often this is requested”, is that a hint? maybe a remake will be made after all?
