Stadia Premiere Edition Announced As Founder’s Edition Nears Selling Out

A new more basic edition will replace the Founder's Edition.

The launch of Stadia is almost here, and whether the thing will be a massive flop or the next step in the evolution of the gaming industry is something only time will tell. There’s been some confusion about Stadia as a service, though Google has done lot to try and clear that up as much as possible. But it seems people are still raring to get their hands on it, as the Founder’s Edition is almost sold out. Thankfully, for those that missed it, Google has a replacement for you in the Premiere Edition.

Google has confirmed that the Founder’s Edition is almost sold out in all regions (and in some regions is completely sold out already). To replace it ahead of the November early release is the Premiere Edition. While it will cost the same as the Founder’s Edition ($129), there’s some key differences.

Instead of the exclusive Night Blue controller of the Founder’s Edition, it will come with the standard White controller. The Premier Edition also lacks the buddy pass (a three month Stadia Pro subscription that you could give to a friend) and the ability to claim exclusive Stadia usernames.

Stadia will launch this year in November for those who buy the Founder’s Edition or the Premiere Edition. It will launch for everyone else at some point in 2020.
