Stadia Will Expand Android Support This Week

The service will go beyond Pixel phones soon.

It’s hard to say exactly where Google’s newest game streaming service, Stadia, is headed. Despite a lot of hype, and lot of promises from both Google and their developer partners alike, the launch was a muted affair. While it’s still a bit on the early side to count it among the many (many) Google services that have ended up in the graveyard, it’s yet to catch on with the masses to any significant degree. Whether it will or not is something only time will tell, but it does seem like Google is at least trying to expand its reach.

As announced by the company today, Stadia will be expanding into more Android phones starting near the end of this week. Up to now, the only Android phones that were compatible were the Pixel 2, 3, and 4. Now there’s a range of select Samsung, ASUS, and Razer ones you’ll be able to stream on. You can see the full list, as provided by Google, below.

Stadia is available now on a variety of devices, with a free tier of some kind still in the works (though it’s been unclear what that entails). The devices listed below will be able to use Stadia starting February 20th.
