Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness Releases in 2016 for North America and Europe

Traverse the stars in the newest Star Ocean.

Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness was next up at Square Enix’s E3 2015 conference and after a short primer on the game’s setting, we got a look at the locations, visuals and combat.

The gameplay in Star Ocean 4 appears to follow a real-time system with some turn-based elements for abilities and spells. The locations themselves look pretty good but nothing extraordinary. If it feels old-school, that’s because Square Enix intends it to be that way. The transition from battles to traveling will be seamless and that will be the theme of Star Ocean 4. You’ll still see some static cut-scenes though in order to preserve some of the game’s rhythm.

Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness will aim for 60 FPS when it launches on PS4 in 2016 for North America and Europe. It will hit Japan in Winter 2015. What are your thoughts on the overall game? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information from Square Enix at E3.
