Not arguing that the X is more powerful than the Pro.
I’m simply stating you and many others on these forums are incompetent when it comes to how tech works.

You have 3 different factors that directly affect how well you see difference. The rules are mostly the same for PC users, except they will be more likely to see differences as the monitor is pretty much in their lap.

1) The LOWER the resolution, the easy it is to see a gain when you move up to a higher quality resolution.
At 720p vs 1080p it is exponentially easier to see the difference in quality but a HIGHER resolution – checkerboard 4k vs native 4k is extremely HARD to see the difference.

2) The smaller the TV the harder it is to see ANY difference. To see differences of any kind with a console you should be running a 55-70″ TV.

3) The distance. If you want to see differences you need to be at 8′ or less from the TV.

As console users are typically TV users sitting 8′ away from their 55″ TV then they are only likely to notice the absolutely most extreme resolutions. e.g. going from an Original One to a Pro or X. They WILL NOT notice going from a Pro to an X at that size and distance. They *might* if they sit 4′ away and freeze the game so they can look at the details.

I should mention that some game environments are better than others.
Horizon/Frozen Wilds looks immensely better on a Pro than Origins does on an X. A much higher density in the world; so much so that it looks like a jungle or dense forest with amazing detail. Origins….a desert. Lots of sand…and rolling flat hills….

I’ve played Oblivion in back compat mode with no patches, and I can say that the performance is amazing, same with FO3! No blurry textures, and it takes 1 second per loading screen as opposed to 2 – 3 minutes!

How is dynamic 4k different than native 4k. When. It hits 4k it’s 4k. When it doesn’t then it’s not 4k.
This isn’t checkerblurry like you play on.

But you’re right though a stable native 4k would be nice but t would make the console more expensive. I have a pc for that.

Dynamic resolutions are fine because they are native, but checker boarding is not fine because it makes a game look blurry or soft like df like to say.

This game actually reaches true 4k I n the Xbox x and pc. Everything else is just peasant trash right?

If you aren’t at least as good as Xbox x then your console graphic is trash. Is that fair to say?

Native 4K at the menu and looking at a wall doing nothing. Funny how Xgimp prescription lenses means they can immediately tell the difference between dynamic 4K and slightly less dynamic 4K in motion. Once again the joke IS you. :^)

Now that the power tables have turned, you suddenly have a change in heart on resolution.

I feel like it was well worth the investment with the game running on my TV (EA Access trial not available on PS) and watching Planet Earth 2 (4K Blu Ray not available on PS oddly).

Value depends on the individual. For some they rather go for the cheaper PS4 Pro. For others, getting the best visuals consoles can offer is worth the price of admission.

Honestly it feels like you are scraping the bottom of the barrel and hating on it simply because you want to with no reason behind it.
