Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Will Have “Quality” and “Performance” Modes on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X

Respawn Entertainment details enhancements for its upcoming action title on more powerful hardware.

Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a major AAA release, and given that, it goes without saying that everyone will be expecting it to feature some enhancements that will leverage the more powerful hardware of the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro. It will indeed do that, and we now have some details on how.

Speaking to We Got This Covered, Respawn Entertainment producer Paul Hatfield confirmed that on the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro, the action-adventure title will have options for two modes- a “quality” mode, which will favour higher resolutions and a 30 FPS frame-rate, and a “performance” mode, which will make sacrifices in the resolution department, but will deliver a 60 FPS frame-rate. Pretty standard stuff.

What the exact resolution in both modes on both consoles will be isn’t something that Hatfield seems to have spoken about, but he did confirm that in performance mode, the game will be targeting 60 FPS at all times, even though the frame-rate might dip below that target every now and then.

Of course, if you’re playing on PC and have a solid rig, none of this will be of any concern to you. Check out the game’s PC system requirements through here, though do note that the RAM requirements have since been modified.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15.
