Valve has been offering tons of new features for Steam. After the Discovery update, there’s now a Music Player for Steam that will let you play tunes on your hard disk. Currently, it seems to support MP3 files but as long as you have songs, you’ll be able to play them while gaming and even create your own playlist. This can be controlled from the Steam overlay directly.
There will also be a new Music section in the Library which displays soundtracks for games you already own. A comprehensive list of soundtracks has been provided, which you can check out here, but at the very least, Valve has promised free soundtracks for all of its game and the recent Free to Play documentary without any charge.
What’s next for Steam, which recently crossed 100 million active accounts? We’ll find out in the coming weeks so stay tuned for more information and details.
