That Steam continues to grow its audience at a rapid rate doesn’t really come as a surprise, even with the many other launchers and digital platforms that are available to the PC audience. Valve’s platform continues to knock down new milestones at a steady clip, and has hit another one of those.
As per SteamDB, Steam recently surpassed its all-time peak of concurrent users, seeing 38,367,277 concurrent users on Sunday. At the time, 12,270,218 of those players were playing a game, while the remaining were using the platform outside of playing an actual game.
As recently as March this year, Steam saw a record breaking 36 million concurrent users, up from over 33 million just a couple of months prior, so clearly, the platform’s audience is continuing to grow at a steady pace. That would suggest it will be crossing that 40 million mark before too long, which is going to be yet another remarkable milestone to cross.
