Switch Lite Comes With Smaller Battery And New Processor

The revision comes with some new parts under the hood.

Earlier this year, we finally got the official announcement of the Switch Lite. The more portable focused revision of Nintendo’s newest console had been teased, rumored and leaked so much you’d think it’d dull the announcement, but no, people still got excited. Ahead of the hardware’s release, we also got a little peek at what’s under the hood.

The tech folk over at The Verge took look through the FCC filings for the machine. Through it they confirmed that the system has a 13.6 watt-hour battery, which is 16% smaller than the 16Wh battery in the regular Switch. It also uses the same improved processor that the updated versions of the non-Lite Switch releasing soon with get. Those, combined with the smaller screen, give the system a good boost to its battery life.

The Switch Lite will hit shelves September 20th, just in time for some major Nintendo releases such as Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Dragon Quest XI S and Daemon X Machina.
