Plus a whole host of other additions and changes to boot.

The Aquatic Update for Minecraft, which was going to be broken into two phases, is now out in its entirety for the Bedrock versions of Minecraft (i.e. the “better together” ones). This means that the update is now available for Xbox One, Windows 10, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch.

It is planned to come to PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, and Xbox 360 some time later. Note that, as previously announced, all of these systems except for PS4 won’t get Minecraft updates after this one. The Java Edition will get it by the end of July.

The update adds a litany of features (you can see a list below), and, specifically on Switch, enables the functionality to join realms- but not servers yet. That will be coming at a later date, apparently.

You can check out the full patch notes for this update, including new additions, and multiple changes, as well as a new trailer for it, for yourself below. Minecraft is available on *takes a deep breath* Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Mac, Windows 10, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, iOS, Android, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch.

Honestly, given how long those versions were supported, no complaints.

Microsoft has confirmed that the old gen versions of Minecraft– which is to say, versions of the game for PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, and Wii U- will be reaching end of support with the next update, the Aquatic update, citing low player base for those versions.

“Although we’d love to keep bringing new content to all our players forever, the older generation of consoles now make up less than five per cent of our active players,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a new blog post. “We’ve made the difficult decision to focus our efforts to support players where they play Minecraft the most and where we plan to add new features: on Java, PlayStation 4 Edition and the versions of Minecraft made with the Bedrock Engine on other consoles, mobile, and Windows 10.”

Curiously enough, the Nintendo 3DS version of the game- which is exclusive to New 3DS consoles, and released last year- has not been mentioned as one of the versions that is going to be sunset. It’s interesting, because New 3DS is technologically the most inferior platform the game is on, and that version can’t constitute a big portion of Minecraft‘s player base either. It probably has to do with how recently that version released, more than anything.

If you want to play Minecraft, you can play it on, well, literally anything- apart from the old gen versions reaching end of life, you have it on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, New Nintendo 3DS, iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.

It's a big one.

Minecraft on Xbox One (and Xbox 360!) has been updated yet again, and it’s a pretty hefty one- 4J Games have added a number of features that have been requested by fans for quite a while, including a brand new tutorial world, bats, donkeys, mules, horses, and witches (with the new tutorial world serving as a gentle introduction to all of these new mechanics for players).

The update is called Update 7, and is currently only available on Xbox platforms. But before you get all up in arms and start crying conspiracy theories about how Microsoft, now the owners of Mojang and Minecraft, are clearly favoring their own console here, the developer says the hold up is on Sony’s end, as they are still certifying the update before they let it through.

Oh, well. That’s okay then.

Make sure to see the full list of changes brought by the update by clicking on this link, and stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information.

Vita and Xbox One versions still in bug testing mode.

Minecraft, the indie game hit sensation that is already available on PC, iOS, Android, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, will also be coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita later this year, and if you have been looking forward to those versions, there is good news on that front!

First, Minecraft on PlayStation 4 is now in certification. This means that the game is done, the bug testing is done, everything is done (essentially, think of it as the game having gone gold)), and it is now being certified by Sony. With any luck, this should not be a long process, and the release should follow shortly thereafter.

The PS Vita and Xbox One versions, on the other hand, are still in the bug testing stage, although they should be done and released soon as well (their release might trail the PS4 version’s release by a little, however).

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more.

So none of your hard work is lost.

Minecraft has been a veritable sensation on the Xbox 360, with over ten million copies sold worldwide just on that console (worldwide sales of the game across all platforms exceed 40 million); a lot of people have put in a lot of time into Minecraft on the Xbox 360, so it’s understandable that they wouldn’t want to lose their progress, which could come about by something as simple as simply upgrading to the next gen console versions of the game.

Well, worry no more! You’re covered! Phil Spencer’s Twitter account has confirmed that your save file from the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft will carry over into the Xbox One version of the game. How this will work, especially given that the Xbox One version is supposed to be bigger, more expansive, and more complex (and generally closer to the PC version, relative to the Xbox 360 version, which was a limited sandbox), is as yet unknown, with Spencer only promising more details ‘soon.’

Do you have an Xbox 360, an Xbox One, and Minecraft on your Xbox 360 with the intent to upgrade to the Xbox One version of the game? If so, this might be some very good news to you.

Minecraft, the insanely popular indie game that has at this point become a pop culture phenomenon, decided to break its Xbox 360 console exclusivity earlier this year with the announcement that it would be coming to PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One as well. While the PS3 version launched recently, the other three are nowhere in sight. Now, it seems like we might have to wait for them a little while longer than we initially thought.

Examiner reports that 4J Studios, the masterminds behind the console ports, have confirmed that the other versions in question will not be releasing till March 2014, and that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will also not be getting any updates in the meanwhile.

“Thanks for another great year everyone! 4J Studios is now off for a Christmas break. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas,” the developer wrote on their Twitter account.

“We’ll be back in 2014 to continue work on #MinecraftXBLA, #MinecraftPS3, #MinecraftXbox1, #MinecraftPS4 and #MinecraftPSVita.”

Looks like players who want updates to their console version (or just a version for their console in the first place) will have to wait a little while longer.
