Pikmin Live has players using their device's camera to find nearby Pikmin, who can in turn help the player out by finding treasures.

Developer Niantic has teamed up with Nintendo to release a new browser-based AR game based on the Pikmin franchise. Titled Pikmin Finder, the game revolves around players making use of their device’s camera to find nearby Pikmin in their surroundings.

Much like Ninatic’s successful Pokemon Go, Pikmin Finder will have different kinds of Pikmin that can be found depending on various factors, like location and time of day. Pikmin found by players will then be able to lead the players to finding treasures.

Pikmin Finder can be played through the official website. Being focused on smartphones and tablets, accessing the website on a PC doesn’t start the game, and instead points players to a QR code that can be scanned by any modern smartphone to open up the game on their device.

Gameplay for Pikmin Finder seems rather simplistic, since it just revolves around finding Pikmin and using them to get treasure, and the game seems to currently be little more than an ad for the recent Nintendo Switch-exclusive Pikmin 4. Check out our review of Pikmin 4 for more details.

A recent Windows Central report states that 2 Minecraft games are currently in development at Mojang.

A new report from Windows Central states that Mojang has at least two new Minecraft games in the works right now. Reputed author Jez Corden backs his claim with anonymous sources, and believes that recent teases from Minecraft‘s social media accounts definitely count for something.

Minecraft has been adapted in a multitude of different formats, including Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Story Mode among others. Thus, it wouldn’t exactly be a surprise if the pixel arts we keep seeing on Minecraft’s social media bears fruit in some way shape or form sometime soon.

“One thing I know for sure: There is more Minecraft coming. I know from trusted sources that Mojang has at least two all-new projects that aren’t Minecraft or Minecraft Dungeons, although I have no idea exactly what those games might look like. Perhaps we’ll discover that all of those pixel-style art posts were in fact teases for full-blown projects … or maybe not. One can hope, though,” the post reads.

Minecraft is one of the biggest games on the planet, with a breathtaking number of players and custom game-modes keeping gamers hooked onto custom games for extraneous amounts of time. This Mojang-developed creation has sold more than 200 units across different platforms, which is a number that most developers can only dream of hitting.

Gotta swap 'em all.

May all your Pokemon dreams come true. In addition to being to bump into speeding vehicle while collecting Pokemon out in the wild, it looks like a future update of Pokemon Go will allow you to trade Pokemon with other players.

Niantic’s had its hands full with the phenomenal launch response to Pokemon Go, but the developer appears to already be teasing what’s in store for the game. Niantic CEO John Hanke described player-to-player Pokemon training as being “kind of a core element.” (thanks, Business Insider).

Hanke said that the Pokestops and Gyms around the world are in their “most basic versions,” as they are right now, hinting at substantial additions in terms of customization. Hanke also said that the game’s core AR feature–what projects Pokemon onto the real world via your phone camera, will be taken forward as well. What’s you’re take on Pokemon go? Let us know!
