On May 30th, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 owners on PC will receive free 30 day access to the four multiplayer DLC packs – Awakening, Eclipse, Descent and Salvation – for 30 days. This offer will start at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/6 PM BST.

The DLC will be automatically downloaded for PC owners but you can stop the process if you desire. The DLC maps will be included in the usual playlists and add 16 maps onto the usual 12, making for 28 total maps to play on.

If you already own the DLC, then you’ll receive double XP while playing on the DLC maps. Season Pass owners will receive double XP across all multiplayer maps. Interestingly enough, the free Multiplayer DLC Trial Pack isn’t currently being offered to Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 players.

The Eclipse DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is already available on PlayStation 4 but on May 19th, it will be releasing for Xbox One and PC. That’s about a month after and it’s pretty much in line with the Activision-Sony timed exclusivity deal.

Eclipse features four new maps – Spire, Rift, Knockout and Verge – along with another Zombies map. Verge is actually a remake of Bonzai from Call of Duty: World at War. The new Zombies map is called Zetsubou No Shima and will continue the tale of the Origins heroes. It will also feature the usual array of secrets, weapons, traps and more.

The DLC alone retails for $15 but if you purchase the Season Pass for $50, you receive Awakening and two more unannounced DLC. In other Call of Duty news, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is out on November 4th with the Legacy Edition shipping with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered and retailing for $80. Activision also addressed negative feedback for the game’s trailer.

If you were one of those people who signed up for the closed Alpha for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Modding tools then it appears you should have access this week. This comes after it was announced last month that the Alpha would be starting off soon. It seems you should be checking your inbox for access now.

Even if you signed up, it’s possible you don’t have access just yet, though. The developers have said only chosen people from the modding community are going to be getting an invite right now. Treyarch also said, “incredible amount of testing and iteration” for the tools will help “lay the foundation for an open beta.”

The company has said it will be taking a good long look at the data the Alpha provides in order to launch a beta a few months from now. All of this is long awaited, as Treyarch announced it would be bringing modding tools to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on the PC back in November.

A new patch is available across all platforms for Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The 1 GB patch is meant to add support for the recently released Eclipse DLC pack on PS4. However, even as Xbox One and PC players have to wait a month for the DLC’s release, there are a ton of other changes introduced with this patch.

These include changes to the weapons, ranging from the Assault Rifles and SMGs to the Light Machine Guns and Scopes. Stability has been generally increased here and there, and it’s worth checking out just to see how your favourite gun handles now.

Zombies has also received its fair share of balance updates and exploit fixes, including one glitch where players could use the Death Machine indefinitely. Der Eisendrache players will also be happy to hear that an issue where skulls wouldn’t appear after being collected during the bow upgrade quest has been resolved.

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will have its second map pack DLC release on April 19th with Eclipse. Like Awakening, Eclipse features four new multiplayer maps and a new Zombies map to continue the storyline. However, the focus of the latest trailer is on the maps and the various sick plays that are pulled off. Check them out below.

The new maps include Verge, a trial compound on the wrong side of the apocalypse; Knockout, taking place in an old-school Shaolin Temple; Spire, a futuristic airport in sub-orbital space; and Rift, which compromises of a rail system near a volcano.

Eclipse will be releasing first for PlayStation 4 on April 19th at $15. It will be available for Xbox One and PC one month later due to a one month exclusivity agreement that Activision has with Sony. No word yet on whether it will be heading to PS3 like Awakening but stay tuned for more updates.

Treyarch is busy prepping the next DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Eclipse will include four new multiplayer maps but the biggest appeal is arguably the new Zombies map “Zetsubou No Shima”.

After the events of Der Eisendrache, our heroes from the original Zombies campaign travel to a Pacific island and deal with a new range of horrors resulting from experiments with Element 115. The trailer below showcases some of the new enemies you’ll face which include an odd mix of undead and plants. Plants! There will be the usual side-missions and secrets along with new traps to activate.

Eclipse will be out on April 19th for the PlayStation 4 first. It will release later (likely after a month) for the Xbox One and PC. Could it head to the PlayStation 3 like Awakening? The next DLC for Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is on its way. Like Awakening before it, Eclipse will feature four new maps, a new Zombies map and other new features. Of the new maps, one is a remake from Call of Duty: World at War called Banzai. It’s Verge now though and Treyarch have released a short new video showcasing what players can expect.

Verge is pretty straightforward – there are a few main areas like the bridge, tunnels and waterfalls to control and sight-lines to engage your enemies. It already looks interesting though we’ll need to actually get our hands on it to see how it feels.

Along with Verge, Eclipse features Rift, Spire and Knockout as its new maps. The newest Zombies map “Zetsubou no Shima” takes place on an island in the Pacific and will see our heroes taking on new threats. Eclipse is out on April 19th for PlayStation 4 first. Look for it a month later on Xbox One and PC.

Treyarch finally revealed its second DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. “Eclipse” will be out on April 19th for the PS4 and likely a month later for Xbox One and PC due to a timed exclusivity deal Sony has with Activision.

New multiplayer maps this time around include Spire, a sub-orbital airport in the clouds with multiple levels; Rift, the core of a military complex with different funnels for close combat; Knockout, set in a Shaolin Temple; and Verge, a re-imagined version of Banzai from World at War.

The new Zombies map is Zetsubou no Shima which takes place in a research laboratory on a remote island in the Pacific where experiments with humans, plants and animals have been going. Activision has promised “new terrifying zombie enemies, a variety of innovative transport mechanics, more devastating traps and classic Zombies side quests.”
