WWE 2K25 released earlier this year and added a new 2K Showcase focused on The Bloodline, while Persona 5 Tactica serves as a turn-based strategy spin-off for the main series. Green Hell is a brutal survival experience in the Amazon, and Fate/Samurai Remnant is a new hack-and-slash title offshoot co-developed by Omega Force of Hyrule Warriors fame.

Crow Country is an acclaimed PlayStation One-style survival horror inspired by Resident Evil and Silent Hill. PS5 owners can also check out sci-fi adventure The Invincible and top-down survival horror Conscript. Meanwhile, Premium subscribers will have access to Legacy of Kain: Defiance on both platforms. As a new title in the vaunted action-adventure series, it features both Kain and Raziel as playable characters.

Set in Edo Period Japan during the Waxing Moon Ritual, it sees Miyamoto Iori caught in a battle between Masters and Servants, eventually joining forces with Saber. Combat involves five Stances, each specializing in different techniques (Water stance attacks multiple enemies while Earth Stance offers strong defense).

Iori and Saber battle other Masters and Servants, including Jean Alter and Chiemon, but there are also activities in Akasaka, Kanda and Yoshiwara to partake in. Visit food stalls, upgrade your skills and even pet various cute animals. Fate Samurai/Remnant is available for PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Omega Force, it takes place in Edo Period Japan during the fourth year of the Keian Era. The Waxing Moon Ritual begins with Masters and Servants fighting it out as protagonist Miyamoto Iori gets caught between them. Though Iori can use the Niten Ichiryu style, he also fights alongside Saber, who can use magic.

Other Servants include Archer, whose Master is Zheng Chenggong; Jean Alter as Lancer, whose Master is Chiemon; Rider, whose Master is Yui Shousetsu; and many more. Iori can switch between five Stances in combat, with Earth Stance being good for defense and Water Stance being best for attacking several foes. Saber can also unleash Water attacks and acts independently of Iori’s actions. They can also use an Affinity Technique to deplete the Shell Gauge of enemies (like Servants) so that Iori can damage them.

In addition to combat, players will explore areas like Akasaka, Kanda and Yoshiwara, developing their skills, interact with people, eating at food stalls and more. For more details on the cast, head here.

It also showcased some new gameplay, like the protagonist slicing apart enemies with the single and dual sword styles. They also face off against other Servants like Jeanne Alter and Masters (as indicated by another person with a Command Seal on their hand). Musashi Miyamoto also appears and seems to be playable.

The Standard Edition will cost 9,680 yen, with early purchases getting Musashi’s Phantasm Costume Dress. There’s also a Treasure Box Edition for 17,380 yen, which includes the game, a novel from the Fate scenario team, the original soundtrack on CD, seven Command Spell Seals, a B2-size cloth poster, and the Book of Kogyoku book cover.

The Treasure Box’s content is also available separately for 7,700 yen. Those who want more can pick up the Treasure Box + Figure DX Version for 49,380 yen, which also has a 1/7 scale figure of Musashi (whose class appears to be Berserker in this game). The ESRB listing also offers some new gameplay details. As a swordsman in the Edo Period of Japan (one who can seemingly summon a Servant), players will fight enemies like ninjas, samurai, demons and ghosts with swords. However, you’ll also explore cities, meet other characters and complete “objectives.”

Combat is “fast-paced” with “sword-slashing effects, cries of pain, and blood splatter.” Despite being rated T for Teen, there’s a hefty amount of violence in the cutscenes, with dismemberment, gore, decapitations of “serpent creatures,” and more. Alcohol and tobacco references also abound, though the explicit language is seemingly limited to “s**t.”

Fortunately, it seems an announcement could be due in the coming months. Gematsu discovered that it was rated in Taiwan for all four platforms. Several gaming showcases like Summer Game Fest are coming next month, so it could appear there.

Fate/Samurai Remnant seems to be set in the Edo era, with the player character becoming a Master. They summon a Servant who must likely partake in the new Holy Grail War, but little else – like how the game plays – is known. At the very least, Aniplex is also working on the title, which could mean stunning anime-style cutscenes. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Very little is known about how it will play – will it go for the Musou-style of Dynasty Warriors or be more like Nioh? But it follows a warrior in what seems to be the Edo era as he becomes a Master and summons a Servant. Another character is shown at the tail-end of the trailer that could be another Servant.

Aniplex is also on board, providing “production cooperation,” so that would explain the sharp-looking cutscenes. Check out the official website here for more details.

Along with Fate/Samurai Remnant, Koei Tecmo also has WILD HEARTS releasing next month and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty releasing in March. Then there’s Rise of the Ronin, launching in 2024 exclusively for PS5.
