The mobile versions will also receive voice chat and improved performance.

Epic Games’ Fortnite has been quite dominant in the free to play space, thanks in no small part to Fortnite: Battle Royale. Following huge revenue on iOS, Epic Games has announced that the Android version of the title arrives this Summer. Expect a more solid release date as we near launch.

The Android version isn’t the only thing Epic has planned for the game’s mobile version. Future updates include allowing players to customize the game’s heads-up display (currently live on iOS), thus letting them remap and re-orient gameplay elements as they see fit.

Voice chat will also be coming to mobile and will include options to mute individual players, all players or simply go with an open mic. Cross platform functionality between the different version is also being looked at. Expect better performance and controls on mobile along with a smaller installation size for the overall game and upcoming updates (not to mention downloading patches in the background).

On May 1st, player spending increased by an incredible 293 percent.

Epic Games’ Fortnite Mobile is an interesting case study, pushing the boundaries of games possibly on mobiles. It’s also striking while Fortnite: Battle Royale is at its hottest and catering to all manner of players on the go.

Having released on March 15th, Fortnite Mobile has earned a whopping $50 million in just two months. Sensor Tower’s analysis also revealed that player spending had increased by 293 percent thanks mostly to the Season 4 Battle Pass which retailed for $10.

Interestingly enough, the site noted that in its initial seven days, PUBG Mobile (the mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) only managed to earn 20 percent of the Fortnite’s first week revenue. That’s even with a larger global player base on iOS. Make no mistake – Epic Games is raking in the moolah with Fortnite.

In other news, Fortnite: Battle Royale recently received a limited time mode that involves Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers: Infinity War. It’s pretty cool, even if Thanos had to be nerfed hours after it went live.

Reports indicate that daily spending exceeds $1 million on iOS.

Despite not even being a month old, Epic Games’ mobile port of Fortnite, appropriately named Fortnite Mobile, has done very well for itself. Sensor Tower revealed that the mobile release had earned $25 million since releasing on April 1st, up from the $15 million reported in several weeks ago.

It’s interesting because Fortnite Mobile wasn’t even available to all players outside the gate. Since being available publicly, Fortnite Mobile’s daily spending has exceeded $1 million. The real kicker is that it isn’t even out on Android devices. If this keeps up, then it could end up grossing $500 million on both iOS and Android devices by 2018.

Alongside the mobile release, Fortnite is doing extremely well on PC and consoles as well. Fortnite: Battle Royale continues to be insanely popular and is adding new features with each weekly update. Season 3 ends soon so if you haven’t grinded out all those Battle Pass rewards, get to it.

The Battle Royale experience goes mobile for supported phones and tablets.

After its recent invite-only test, Epic Games has announced that Fortnite Mobile is now available to all iOS users. Availability will depend on the iOS device owned though. Supported smartphones include iPhone SE, 6S, 7, 8 and X while tablets include iPad Mini 4, Air 2, Pro and iPad 2017.

Though Fortnite Mobile could be downloaded on the iOS App Store since the test began, only those with invites could play it. You’ll still need to create an account on Epic’s site to play the game so head here.

Fortnite Mobile has received praise for providing a complete experience despite the limitations of mobile hardware. Weekly challenges and such are available along with optional cross-play to other platforms. Of course, it doesn’t look as good as the PC and home console versions but it’s still very impressive and runs great. The Android version of Fortnite Mobile doesn’t have a release date but Epic has confirmed that it’s still in development.
