Listing says August 8th is the day.

UK retailer GAME has been on somewhat of a streak when it comes to leaks. Prior to Nintendo’s Switch presentation on January 13th, it noted that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would be releasing in March. Granted, that’s based off of every report under the sun confirming the same but its latest release date leak for Splatoon 2 could still be legitimate.

According to GAME, Splatoon 2 will be out on August 18th for the Switch. The listing hasn’t been changed yet which makes us think that it could very well be legitimate. Regardless, wait for official confirmation from Nintendo before clearing your schedule.

Splatoon 2 takes place two years after the first game and thus introduces new weapons and gear for its denizens to fight with. Like before, players can head online for matches but with the caveat of it now requiring a paid subscription to Nintendo’s online service. On the bright side, you can participate in Turf Wars matches through local multiplayer while on the go.

Though we’ll probably know the release date for sure tomorrow, UK retailer GAME has Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild up for pre-order with a release for March 2017. This is according to images from a NeoGAF user.

This isn’t the first time that open world action adventure has been listed for the month, apparently to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch. Insider Laura Kate Dale re-confirmed the release month despite earlier reports saying otherwise. Whether it launches in March for Europe/UK remains to be seen though, especially with rumours being unsure of that happening.

At this point, all signs seem to be pointing towards March but we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Nintendo.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also slated to release for the Wii U along with Switch. When do you think it could release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

GAME's prices for both options are apparently revealed.

Nintendo’s upcoming new platform Switch apparently has a price point in the UK. According to LetsPlayVideoGames and sources close to retailer GAME, the basic model will cost £199.99 while the premium model will retail for £249.99. The price of a Switch Pro controller will be £39.99

The premium model will apparently feature larger internal storage and a bundled game, though the game itself hasn’t been confirmed at this point.

Here’s the interesting point though: Nintendo is apparently looking for the price to be a direct conversion across regions, further enforcing the region-free aspects of it. That means US prices could be somewhere around $250 for the basic model and $300 for the premium model. That’s not a bad price overall though it remains to be seen how the market will react.

What are your thoughts on this potential pricing for the Nintendo Switch? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.

So after the launch of the HTC Vive.

Oculus Rift is available in North America now, as the first units have begun to be shipped to consumers, and (overwhelmingly positive) reviews have begun to hit. However, in the UK, Oculus may not be available at retail for quite some time- according to GAME’s financial reports, the retail launch of Oculus in the country is not till June, which is well after the HTC Vive will have launched there.

GAME is the leading retailer of video game hardware and software in the UK, so they probably know what they are talking about. According to their timeline, the HTC Vive will be the first VR headset to launch in the country in May; Oculus follows in June, while the PlayStation VR brings up the rear in October. The Oculus, Vive, and PlayStation VR will cost £499, £649, and £349 respectively, although the former two need high end PCs to run, while the latter needs a PlayStation Camera.

So you can't get it from the retailer in the UK at all.

So, this is interesting. GAME has confirmed that a lorry that was carrying its shipment of Splatoon Special Edition, which includes the game, but also the ultra rare Squid Amiibo (the Special Edition remains the only way to get the Amiibo in Europe) has been hit by a heist, and is now stolen. As a result, the entire supply of the Special Edition is gone.

Because of this, GAME obviously will not be able to honor any pre-orders for this version that may have been made.

“Due to these extraordinary circumstances, we will unfortunately not be getting replacements for these missing items,” GAME’s email to affected customers explained. “We have no option but to substitute the Splatoon + Squid Inkling in your order with the standard version of the game.

“You will still receive your Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy Amiibo. We will be discounting this edition by £10 from £52.99 to £42.99 to apologize for this inconvenience.”

Nintendo UK themselves released a statement, confirming the theft.

“We can confirm that the lorry transporting the Splatoon stock from Nintendo’s European warehouse to GAME UK has been stolen,” a company spokesperson explained to Eurogamer.

“Included as part of this delivery was GAME’s allocation of the Splatoon + Squid Inkling Amiibo and as a result we are unable to honour pre-orders for this item in GAME. We are working with GAME to contact those customers affected.

“Whilst these unfortunate circumstances were out of Nintendo UK and GAME’s control, we apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment that this has caused.”

I mean… why in the world would you steal the Splatoon Special Edition? I guess the Amiibo black market is really starting to get out of hand at this point. Get this problem sorted out, Nintendo. If Amiibo figures were in proper supply, I imagine events like this wouldn’t be happening much.

Meanwhile, I guess if you ordered your Special Edition from some other retailer in the UK, you should be safe.

On my part, I am glad that the trend of holiday deals being so centered and clustered around November is finally tapering off- this year especially, and from the console manufacturers most of all, we have seen more and more aggressive holiday deals and bundles lasting into December.

We’ve reported on a lot of these for you, and now it is time to add another one to the list, particularly (and only) if you are living in the UK- GAME has announced that it will be selling you a brand new PlayStation 4, with four games for just £350- just £20 more than what the system already costs.

The bundle will get you the console (duh), but it will also get you Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Grand Theft Auto V, The Last of Us: Remastered, and DriveClub. That’s a good selection of games, and more than enough to keep you occupied with your PS4 before the real ball on the library starts rolling.

Black Friday used to be a purely American thing, the day right after Thanksgiving, to allow for people to get some great stuff for stupidly cheap and save some money on holiday shopping, but if there is one thing that unites all of us humans as a species, regardless of national boundaries or barriers, it is our love for saving money and being as cheap and stingy as possible. So there’s no reason the rest of the world can’t join in!

Thus, GAME in the UK is now offering some crazy good deals for Black Friday too. These include an amazingly tempting offer of the Xbox One with four games for just £299- keep in mind, when this stuff is bought separately, it would cost you almost 150% as much, at £480.

The games being offered are pretty good as well- you get Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Forza Motorsport 5, and LEGO Marvel Superheroes, with the former three being digital downloads.

It’s a great deal, and will be available at all GAME stores throughout Friday, so… yeah, go for it, guys. Hard not to recommend the console at that price point.

The white PS4 is, somehow, actually more expensive in the UK than the regular black PS4 is. Somewhere, there is something very messed up in Sony charging people more for a color option, but we’ll skip past that part for now, and we’ll instead focus on this rather cool deal that lets you get one of them in the UK for cheaper than usual.

The Glacier White model, which usually goes for £349, is currently available for £299.97, less than £300. At this price point, notably, it would be cheaper even than the regular black model.

Note that this offer is only being offered by GAME in the UK, and that so far, it seems to be limited to their website only. Still, ahead of the holiday shopping season, it’s a good deal, and a pretty tempting price, so if you want to get one for yourself, just follow this link.

EA Sports’ latest game in their super successful FIFA series of football sims, FIFA 15, is almost here, and it’s a big deal in most of the world. Especially in the UK, home of the sport, and of the EPL, one of the biggest football leagues in the world. And to celebrate this launch, UK games retailer, imaginatively called GAME, is going to make the launch an event to remember.

Players from the Premier League will be showing up at various GAME stores throughout the country on September 25, as players wait to get their hands on their copy of the game, engaging them in games of FIFA on consoles. The players who will be showing up include England midfielder Jordan Henderson, Tottenham Hotspur centre back Eric Dier, Paul Dummett, Adam Federici, David Elgar, and trio David Meyler, Liam Rosenior and Tom Ince. Additionally, fans at the GAME Edinburgh St James Centre will have the chance to be greeted by Hearts’ Danny Wilson on Friday September 26th, from 3-5pm.

“FIFA 15 is going to be a winner with both football and gaming fans alike and with such a top line up, we’re expecting big crowds. We know how important it is to fans to get gaming as soon as possible so we’ve got our staff match fit to open over 300 of our GAME stores at midnight so gamers can get their hands on it as soon as the whistle blows,” said Dave Howard, Stores Director at GAME.

FIFA 15 launches soon. Stay tuned for further coverage.

GAME UK Loses Landmark Case, Must Pay Hefty Dues

3 million in back-rent.

GAME UK has lost what has been deemed to be a landmark case and must now pay hefty dues as a result. While they are currently appealing against the verdict of the case in higher courts, if the decision were to remain the same, they would have to pay several landlords £3 million in back-rent for which, the case claims, they were already accountable for. This goes against the general rule that companies don’t have to pay rent while proceedings are active.

“The real ramification of this decision is, however, that it will have a significant financial impact on all landlords, tenants and insolvency practitioners involved in current and future business insolvencies in this country,” Game UK said in a statement.

“The previous system was deeply unsatisfactory for both landlords and insolvency practitioners and this judgement provides a workable, common sense resolution to the payment of rent as an administration expense,” said Hammerson’s head of credit control Duncan Grubb. “This judgement will significantly change the relationship between landlords and insolvency practitioners, and will hopefully lead to more collaboration when dealing with critical situations.

“Corporate restructuring will now be focused purely on trading patterns and the viability of the ongoing business, rather than on rent free periods from landlords provided by a legal loophole.”

Stay tuned, we’ll keep you in the loop as more details come our way.
