As a divine rat, Vikala relies on rodents to throw and attack enemies. However, she also throws a large bear trap on a chain, summons cannons to fire at opponents, and even uses a sparkly rainbow as an anti-air. Meanwhile, her Super Skybound Art involves holding a concert. It’s over-the-top but also cheery and endearing in a way.

Though Vikala closes out the current pass, Character Pass 2 is also in the works. Its first fighter, Sandalphon, will be out in early 2025. Further details have yet to be confirmed, so stay tuned.

The publisher also confirmed the new mini-game for Grand Bruise! with Slime Blaster. The mechanics are seemingly straightforward, as players must earn points and qualify for the next stage by defeating as many Slimes as possible within the time limit.

The new lobby mini-game is Robomi: Epic Clash, where players must time their button presses to take down enemies. It seems akin to Samurai Kirby, though whether it offers similar challenges – like progressively stricter timing with each opponent – remains to be seen. Character Pass 2 is also in the works and features Sandalphon, though a release window has yet to be confirmed.

Vikala is a member of the Twelve Divine Generals, with two states – Yin and Yang. The latter is happy-go-lucky and hopeful, while the former is more withdrawn – whether that plays a role in her playstyle remains to be seen. While she’s the final entry in Character Pass 1, Character Pass 2 is in the works. Even better is that it includes Sandalphon, who received a brief teaser. A release window and the number of characters are yet to be confirmed.

Towering over several characters on the current roster, Versusia is capable of moves that can knock back and juggle. She also possesses incredible speed while teleporting to drop down on opponents from above. Coinciding with her release is Version 1.50, which adds new story episodes. Judging by the trailer, Gran and Djeeta will seemingly take on Versusia in a new boss fight.

The update also adds a new stage, Grand Master rank for ranked play, and balance adjustments for all characters. There will also be a new Battle Pass and a new mini-game to play in online lobbies. Stay tuned for detailed patch notes next month.

Versusia will be available in Version 1.50 alongside balance adjustments for Gran and Lucilius. One new feature for competitive play is the addition of Grand Master Rank, available for the top 10 players. It’s per character in the rankings, and those who achieve the rank get “special badges and trophies” each season.

The balance changes and Versusia are available for EVO 2024 attendees to try out, though the update which hits the game could be different. Stay tuned for detailed patch notes when they go live.

While the teaser image only showcases a silhouette, there are reports that this could be Versusia (with a datamine reportedly revealing her in-game appearance last year). Originally appearing in the Story Mode as Rein, she’s the mother of Gran and Djeeta, who transforms into Versusia with the help of the Versus Core.

Time will tell if she’s the next DLC character, so stay tuned for EVO 2024 from July 19th to 21st. The preview demo also features balance changes for Gran and Lucilius, so expect other adjustments when Version 1.50 drops.

Beatrix’s moveset consists of charges and dashes, some capable of bypassing moves to hit their opponent. However, her sword also has a special effect that can slow enemies as they descend, allowing for more follow-up hits. Her Super Skybound Art is reminiscent of Saber’s Excalibur from Fate/Grand Order, growing to absurd size and bearing down heavily.

Beatrix will arrive alongside version 1.40, so expect other changes and adjustments in the update. She’s included with Character Pass 1 but can also be purchased separately for $7.99. Two more DLC characters will arrive in August and October.

Those who played Granblue Fantasy or its action RPG spin-off Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be familiar with Vane’s playstyle. Wielding a hefty axe, he’s good at dishing out massive damage from mid-range. He can also send out shields for negating projectiles and strikes while tanking hits and unleashing a powerful counter.

There’s also his Cinematic Finisher, which sends his opponents flying. Stay tuned for more details on Vane’s moveset in the coming week, alongside other changes and balance adjustments. The next DLC fighter in Character Pass 1 is Beatrix, who launches in May. Two additional fighters arrive in August and October.

2B doesn’t have a Dash Attack like other characters. However, she can activate different Pod programs for close, mid or long-range damage, including explosive barrages and gravity wells to draw an opponent in. It also allows for charging forward or grappling to an opponent. Several Pod skills consume the Skill Gauge, so you need to manage it accordingly.

She can also Perfect Dodge attacks and counter, grab Pod for a slow descent and double jump. There’s even a self-destruct option, rendering 2B invincible and dealing unblockable damage at the cost of depleting all her health.

While wielding Virtuous Contract and Virtuous Treaty, 2B can initialize different Pod programs for long-range fire and multi-hit shots. She can even Perfect Dodge like in the action RPG and retaliate. Along with her techniques, the trailer provides a quick look at 2B’s weapon skins. There’s even an alternate costume to resemble 2P, who appeared in Final Fantasy 14’s The Copied Factory raid.
