Driving safety regulations, however, will prevent you from playing Xbox games through the cloud streaming while you are actively driving.

Microsoft has announced a new collaboration with LG to bring its Xbox Cloud Gaming feature to even more machines. Interestingly enough, this time around, the feature is being brought to vehicles. As part of this LG partnership, the webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP) will have Xbox software built into it, which can then allow users to stream games directly through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

As you would expect, the device running LG’s webOS ACP needs to be connected to the Internet. The feature has also been designed with safety regulations in mind, which means that you can’t drive and play Forza Horizon 5 (and hundreds of other titles) on your car’s digital dashboard at the same time. To make use of it, the player also needs an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Users simply need to connect a compatible Bluetooth controller and then launch the Xbox app from the vehicle’s infotainment system. The player can then log into their Xbox account with a Game Pass subscription and start playing as soon as possible, since cloud streaming a game doesn’t require any additional time spent on downloading or installing the title.

“Whether you’re jumping back into an old favorite or discovering something completely new, Xbox Cloud Gaming and LG Electronics transforms your vehicle’s infotainment system into more than just music and movies – it becomes a full entertainment hub,” wrote Xbox in its announcement. “Whether you’re waiting at an EV charging station or trying to entertain your passengers on an extended road trip, pass the time by playing games keeping everyone entertained and making the journey feel more fun.”

Microsoft had recently expanded its Xbox Cloud Gaming offerings by bringing the feature to more PC players. “We’re expanding the ways players can experience PC gaming through Xbox Game Pass,” announced Microsoft. “As part of testing, Xbox Insiders subscribed to Game Pass Core or Standard will for the first time gain access to PC versions of select titles, giving you even more flexibility and the choice to play on a PC or Windows handheld.”

The feature makes use of the Xbox PC app, which got support for the Xbox Cloud Gaming feature back in July. As part of this update, users that have already subscribed to Game Pass have been able to access cloud streaming at no extra cost. This new push towards bringing Xbox games to more platforms than just consoles and PCs likely ties into Microsoft’s larger ambitions surrounding its Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, as well as reports about console hardware sales hitting a plateau for the company.

In the meantime, Microsoft is currently getting ready to launch its own handheld devices that were built in collaboration with Asus – the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. Both handhelds will run on Windows, complete with a new UI that makes navigating with a controller simpler, and are slated to hit store shelves worldwide on October 16.

With the magic of Google TV, OnLive and LG look to bring blockbuster gaming to TV screens everywhere.

OnLive and LG will be taking to CES showcase the wonders of cloud gaming with LG’s Smart TV with Google TV (G3 Series) tech at this year’s CES happening from January 8th to 11th in Las Vegas.

With Google TV platform, the G3 Series’ speedy dual-core chipset and supposedly user-friendly interface, OnLive is looking to make console-quality games instantly accessible to TV viewers, without the need of a console or external disc media.

Considering they currently command a catalog of 300+ from more than 80 publishers, with every genre and market segment accounted for, it’s safe to say they mean business.

OnLive Chairman Gary Lauder states, “Our partnership with LG demonstrates the exciting future for cloud gaming as an integrated offering for connected TVs. OnLive’s proven gaming on-demand technology enables consumers to enjoy a vast catalog of console-quality games, with no additional hardware necessary beyond an OnLive controller and LG’s sophisticated and feature-rich Google TV.”

Georg Rasinski, Director of Home Entertainment Brand Management, LG Electronics USA said, “LG’s dual-core performance Google TVs, coupled with OnLive’s innovative games-on-demand service, makes access to the latest videogame entertainment quicker and easier than ever before. By integrating cloud gaming into our powerful G2 series TVs, the entertainment possibilities for consumers are virtually limitless.”

That’s right you read the title correctly, you have a chance to win the new LG D2342P 23″ Class 1080p LCD, LED, 3D Monitor right here at GamingBolt.com and it could not be easier to enter.

All we ask of you is that post what will be the first thing you do when you get your 3D Monitor if you win OR LIKE US ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE OVER HERE. So for instance, just post what will be the first game you play or movie you watch when you first plug this bad boy in. U.S. Residents ONLY can participate in this giveaway, unfortunately.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Remember how Sony sued LG over their phone technology early last year? Yeah, me neither.

Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is, that that suit pissed LG off so much that they responded with their own intellectual property infringement suit, stating that Sony had stolen LG’s high definition encoding technology, that, among others, is used in Bravia TVs and Playstation 3 consoles.

In Europe, LG has won the preliminary injunction, and European customs officials will henceforth seize and confiscate all inbound PS3 shipments for at least ten days. At this point, LG has the option of applying for an extension of this ban. Meanwhile, Sony can appeal the ruling.

LG is trying to win a similar injunction against Sony in the United States.

This seriously doesn’t bode well for the Playstation 3, which is especially strong at retail in Europe.

At this point, all Sony Europe would say is that they are looking into it. We’ll keep you posted as more happens.

LG, the Korean tech company who we all know about, is trying to knock Sony off from US by attempting to prevent it from selling PS3s and Bravia TVs in the country.

Eurogamer’s obtained some documents which shows LG complaining that Sony is infringing four patents belonging to them in relation to “certain electronic devices having a Blu-Ray Disc player and components thereof.”

The only Sony product mentioned in the filings? PS3, ofcouse. Precisely, the model no. CECH-2501A.

IPC are the only group with power to block the sale of imported goods that infringe US patents and we don’t see them to do it, unless LG has some very valid reasons for the complaints.

What do you make of it, will this be the end of the road for PS3 in US?
