Despite a 22 percent sales drop, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring rose to second place in the charts while Pokemon Legends: Arceus managed third place after a nine percent sales drop. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands sales dropped by 38 percent week-on-week, resulting in a drop from second to fourth place. Of course, digital sales aren’t factored in so stay tuned for more details on the same.

The rest of Gfk’s top ten for the week ending April 2nd looks pretty familiar with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe rising from 10th to sixth place, Gran Turismo 7 falling from fourth to seventh and Animal Crossing: New Horizons re-entering the charts at ninth place.

FIFA 22 dropped to second place for the week while Mario Party Superstars remained stable at third place. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe saw a 30 percent increase in sales thanks to strong Switch sales and ranked in fourth. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales also benefited from increased PS5 stock with sales jumping by 342 percent and landing it in fifth place.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy went from second to sixth place with sales falling by 64 percent week on week. Ubisoft’s Riders Republic has gone from eighth to 16th place after following a 48 percent sales drop. Even Far Cry 6 saw a fairly big drop, going from fourth to tenth place. As for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, it dropped from first to ninth place with sales decreased by 50 percent week-on-week. This could be due to the availability of PS5 hardware in the region. Other titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart also dropped to fifth and 12th place respectively despite seeing huge bumps last week.

No More Heroes 3 was the other new title for the week, releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch at 16th place. Check out the complete Gfk top ten for the week below.

Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto 5 saw a 44 percent increase in sales, place it at second place for the week, followed by Minecraft on Nintendo Switch at third place. Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game was in fourth followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The only brand-new entry this week was Supergiant Games’ Hades which had its physical release on Xbox and PlayStation platforms.

A whopping 70 percent of sales were on the PS5, followed by 24 percent on PS4 and seven percent on Xbox Series X/S. The only other noteworthy development was Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s return to the top 40 with a 313 percent rise in sales following new PS5 stock arriving. The only other noteworthy title was Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game. It saw sales increase by 43 percent, no doubt due to the buzz of the real-life Olympics, putting it in third place. Sadly, the buzz didn’t help Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 which saw sales drop by 13 percent.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD saw a major dip, going from second to fifth place after sales dropped by 46 percent. NEO: The World Ends with You debuted last week in tenth place but sadly fell out of the top ten this week. Check out the Gfk top ten for the week ending August 7th 2021 below.

Nintendo’s Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury topped UK physical sales charts for the second week in a row as per Gfk Chart-Track. Despite sales dropping by 61 percent, it’s already the best-selling new title in the region thus far. Interestingly, FIFA 21 saw a 59 percent increase in boxed sales thanks to price cuts, which was enough for it to secure second place.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an even more interesting case. The Wii U game’s port has been a strong seller since coming to the Switch but this week, it hit third place. This is due to regular Switch consoles being in short supply and bundle options, which Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is included with, being more abundant. Animal Crossing: New Horizons saw a 4 percent drop in sales week-on-week but is still in fourth place.

Along with providing updated Switch hardware numbers, Nintendo also revealed updated sales figures for its best-selling first-party titles on the platform. To no one’s surprise, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe continues to dominate with 28.99 million units sold till date. But it’s crazy that Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which launched in March this year, has sold 26.04 million units.

With Nintendo pushing out regular updates for the title – and more to come as Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner – it likely won’t be long before it overtakes Mario Kart 8: Deluxe. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has sold 21.10 million units while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 19.74 million units, inching ever closer to that 20 million mark.

Pokemon Sword and Shield, which will be celebrating their first anniversary this month, have also done very well with 19.02 million units sold.
