A lot of the Marvel buzz is about Sqaure Enix’s Marvel’s The Avengers off it’s still fresh E3 reveal, but there’s another Marvel game coming up soon that’s stuffed to the gills with heroes from the company, Nintendo and Team Ninja’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. We’ve had a lot of looks at the game’s vast roster, but a new Japanese trailer may have shown a few more.

You can see the trailer below. It focuses on the gameplay, but features three heroes we haven’t seen before. One is the well known Winter Solider of Captain America fame, with the other two coming from maybe the less known Inhuman side of things with Medusa and Black Bolt. It doesn’t show them in a playable state, so we can’t take that as confirmation they definitely will be, but odds are good considering the game doesn’t throw a lot of non-playable characters at you.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been getting a lot of characters shown off for the upcoming Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. We’ve seen a range of characters, from the classics like Wolverine and Hawkeye, to some relative newcomers like Ms. Marvel and Miles Morales. But today we’re getting something a tad different. While we’re getting a look at two characters we haven’t seen before, Venom and Electro, they are in the form of a boss fight.

You can see the video provided by Game Informer below that you will face the two in a boss fight early in the game. Here we also see some details about how boss fights will work. Instead of normal fights, where you take on hordes, here you will fight a single character (first Electro and then Venom). You must chip away at a stamina bar, and when you fill it up it’ll momentarily stagger them, allowing you to unleash on the actual health bar. The video also mentions that Venom is playable later, after defeating the duo.

We’ve been getting a lot of gameplay videos for some newer or lesser known characters for the upcoming Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, such as Spider-Gwen, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales. Now it’s time for some old classics to show newcomers how it’s done. Last week Wolverine cut up the place, and now Hawkeye is going to take up the bow and arrow.

Most people will be familiar with Hawkeye through the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He looks a little different here, closer to his comic book look, which you can see below. While a bow and arrow may seem limiting on paper, Hawkeye has a ton of variations. He has piercing ammo, electrifying arrows, explosives, and a move that rains down a barrage of arrows on the mobs you have to fight through. The game also allows both automatic and manual aiming while taking on enemies. There doesn’t seem to have a Ronin variation to Hawkeye, but the series is known for its many costumes, so it’s entirely possible it’ll be somewhere in the final package.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is coming later this year, and Nintendo and Team Ninja have been showing off the massive roster the game promises. Most people probably already know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe favorites are featured just by looking at the cover. Nintendo has also been highlighting some of the lesser known characters though, like Ms. Marvel, as well as those that are now well known but newer than the classics, like Miles Morales. Now we have another newer character from the Spider-Man side of things- Spider-Gwen.

As you can see from Game Informer footage below, Spider-Gwen plays somewhat similar to her Spider-Men counterparts, but also has a massive web ball she can swing around and slam into the ground to hit multiple enemies. She can also teleport to the other side of the arena to smash unsuspecting opponents. That and her bright pink attire give her a unique look to play around with.

With Nintendo and Team Ninja’s revival of the Ultimate Alliance games comes the promise of many different playable characters. While there’s some key differences between the upcoming sequel and previous titles, that much, at least, seems to be staying the same. The game has a host of familiar faces, especially those from the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Guardians of the Galaxy, for instance, have the same roster as the films and sound a lot like their movie counterparts. One of the joys, however, from previous titles, was the inclusion of lesser known characters, exposing many people to characters from the Marvel universe that haven’t made the jump to the big or small screen yet. One of those is Ms. Marvel, who got a special gameplay demo today.

We reported earlier that Ms. Marvel was one of the newer characters being added to the game. The character was only created recently, and was actually the first Muslim character to headline a Marvel comic. She has the ability to stretch and enlarge parts of her body, primarily her fists and feet, to deliver huge blows against the gangs of enemies you have to cut through. One of the more unexpected titles that Nintendo will roll out later this year is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Being developed by Team Ninja, the revival of the franchise is both familiar and a little different. We got our biggest look at the game yet today, detailing the game’s story a bit and some of the side content, namely the Infinity Trials.

Via a gameplay preview by Game Informer that you can see below, we get a look at how the game plays. If you’re a fan of the earlier titles, there’s a lot that you will find familiar here. While the biggest difference is the camera being tighter to the character’s back as opposed to looking down on the action, you still are in the midst of chaotic battles with dozens of on-screen enemies. Like old Ultimate Alliance titles, you can mix and match a variety of teams for bonuses. For instance, you can make a team of only old school Avengers for a specific power boost. The video also talk about Infinity Trials, which are side missions where you play through challenge waves to get new items and gear. Take a look below.

Nintendo’s unlikely revival of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series was a welcome surprise to Marvel fans and Switch owners when Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order was revealed at the end of last year. The Team Ninja-developed title looks both different and familiar from the older titles, but one way they’re both the exact same is the promises of an array of playable characters from the Marvel world- even those that aren’t featured in the popular films. We already have quite the list, with the likes of Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Now we know of two more super heroes we’ll be able to crack skulls with.

Via Game Informer, Nintendo has revealed that Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel will be playable in the game as well. Most people are well aware of Hawkeye due to his roles in the Avengers films. Ms. Marvel may be a little less known. She’s taking the moniker Carol Danvers (who most know as Captain Marvel now) once had, and is a Pakistani-American named Kamala Khan who was the first Muslim character to headline a Marvel comic book series. Far Cry New Dawn Announcement and Gameplay Footage

When the cover art first leaked, my first response was to hope that Ubisoft did enough to distinguish New Dawn from RAGE 2. To be fair, they kind of have. This stand-alone narrative sequel to Far Cry 5 takes us 17 years into the future of Hope County following a nuclear fallout, and showcases how our favourite characters managed to survive (or didn’t). With interesting new villains, more vehicular combat and a nice aesthetic, Far Cry New Dawn is certainly intriguing at this stage. It’s out on February 15^th 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

In a rather odd announcement, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Black Order was revealed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Coming ten years after the last title, it sports an over-the-shoulder perspective and four player co-op. Interestingly enough, the title is developed by Team Ninja of Nioh and Ninja Gaiden fame. Check out the trailer below – the game is out in 2019.

Comprised of heroes from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men and many more, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 sees our heroes battling Thanos and The Black Order. In a plot that echoes Avengers: Infinity War, players will try to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos. The game will include areas like X-Mansion and Avengers Tower.

Online and offline play are both supported. Players can use a separate Joy-Con to control a different character. An additional Joy-Con pair can also be synced to allow four player co-op on one console. Alternatively, you can have four players on four different consoles.
