This is one massive map.

A few weeks ago, Hideo Kojima had revealed the entire map size of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. One look at the map and it’s not hard to make out the portion below is land and the white portion above it is the sky. However that does not seem to be the case. A Reddit user has uncovered that the white portion is actually made up of roads, terrains and buildings.

To further study the map, the user applied white balance correction to show the details more clearly and was able to pinpoint where the trailers of the game took place on the map. This information is of course debatable but given that the user proves it by using image correction, we won’t be surprised if this turns out to be true in the final game.

We have the images below. Check it out and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Regardless of whether this turns out to be true or not, one thing is for sure, Metal Gear Solid 5 will boast an absolutely massive world when it releases next year. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due in 2015 for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Kojima on how Big Boss will loose his part of humanity like Skull Face.

Hideo Kojima is a man that has inspired a generation of artists, gamers, directors, writers and more. This year at Gamescom 2014, Kojima revealed new information about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

He revealed that Skull Face represents a person having lost their human side. Removing the skin from the face in this context, literally represents a removal of the characters humanity. He also comments on Big Boss becoming like a “skull”, saying that he loses some of his humanity whilst on his quest for vengeance.

In Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, the Militaires Sans Frontieres (Soldiers without Borders) insignia is designed around the hypothesized super continent Pangea of ancient earth which, when viewed at a slight angle, resembles a skull. Meaning that Snake and his allies have literally fought under a skull already before.

Kojima goes on to say that this is all part of a larger, sad subplot. The Phantom Pain is due early 2015 for the PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Check out the latest gameplay footage of the game here.

A certain few expectations that we hold from Hideo Kojima and his team's next game.

Hideo Kojima has been heralded as one of the greatest and most influential directors and writers in the video game industry. For good measure too. His latest works have proven just how much an influence and harbinger of change he can be. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was a mash of some heart wrenching sequences coupled with a good gameplay.

Ground Zeroes is the prologue to MGS V:The Phantom Pain, and it’s been said to tackle some really mature themes and take up taboos. If Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain’s trailer are anything to go by, the actual game is going to be one dark twisted game. It’s about time that the game industry treat its members with the maturity and some solid ‘ground reality’. Since Kojima is already past the tepid ground with his adamant approach, drawing criticism and appreciation alike, we have a few things that we’d really like to see in the upcoming game. Things that really bring to front the dark side of war and make you squirm with disgust and odium. Ten controversial things that we look forward to in MGS V: The Phantom Pain.

Note: Although we would like to see these sensitive topics in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom, we believe that they should only be included if Konami and Kojima Productions are able to fully justify it and not just for the sake of it.

Child Militia

Childhood is a tender age. Unfortunately, humanity realises that very well and some people utilise it to the utmost. Since more than half the world’s terrorist organisations have barely teenage children as recruits, there’s no reason why child terrorists shouldn’t have found a way into the game. The Phantom Pain’s trailer shows a bunch of kids who have barely seen a dozen springs, handling AKs. It brings forth a reality, that has been known for long.

Child militia somehow acts as a deterrent for war soldiers and I would really like to see how Kojima has incorporated this factor in the game, pitting Snake and his comrades against kids, a fraction of their ages, pointing guns in their direction, ready to spill blood at a moment’s notice.

Popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu recently took a poll asking readers what games caught their attention most at this year’s E3. This was the year that saw several high profile announcements, along with a bunch of reveals for existing blockbusters.

Unsurprisingly however, it was the Japan-made games that got the most attention. The surveys indicated that Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 15, which formerly went by the name Final Fantasy Versus XIII, ranked first. This was followed by Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and the long awaited announcement of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS came fourth, while the only non-Japanese title to make the top 5 was Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs in fifth place.

Much was made about Metal Gear Solid 5 in particular with readers praising its graphics and open world gameplay. One reader stated that, “I felt this game offers something really powerful that only the next gen can produce, not just another case of the visuals getting better.”

The top three, however, are yet to receive release dates.
