Earlier a film appeared on the internet, made by North Korea, which showed American buildings getting blown to bits, and yeah, it was something they clearly enjoyed making.

However, the video contained footage from Modern Warfare 3, which had such scenes in the game. The video went viral and Activision took note of it, eventually sending a DMCA takedown notice.

It’s hilarious how these guys didn’t take the permission of the company that made the game. But according to new reports the video has been pulled down now.

In the film, a young man was dreaming about seeing a unified Korea. The country is about to conduct a Nuclear test and such a film surely displays their intentions.

Here’s what the text in the film reads: “Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing. It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself.”

It seems we already know what will supersede Black Ops 2 next year, as if it wasn’t logical enough in the first place. It’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 from Infinity Ward, of course it isn’t confirmed yet, but we have some leaked details thanks to Siliconera.

The game will feature a battle hardened veteran with a nihilistic point of view. Seems generic and hope it’s not as generic as Nihilistic’s CoD game for the PS Vita.

Here’s the leaked script for the game:

“Reminds you of Phuket, doesn’t it? Only this time the dust gives you cancer… OK, park yourself and get ready. When this thing kicks off, put a hole in anything that moves.”

“This is Sentinel Zero One, successful crypto change on C2 net break, requesting immediate update of blue force picture and status of artillery, over. I have you broken and unreadable, I say again, requesting updates to friendly positions and status of arty support. Do you read, over?”

“We’ve got KVA on the move! They’re going to strongpoint the main gate, ETA two mikes! We’re providing support for our heavy rollers! Ready up and let’s move!”

“Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!”

Captain Soap McTavish could be back as well so who knows.

Huge news.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 having been one of the least successful Call of Duty titles in recent years- thought still very successful individually- some would have thought that Activision and Infinity Ward will be dropping the Modern Warfare brand name, and while some suspected that 2013’s CoD title might be a new Modern Warfare game, this was never really concrete.

Well, it looks like that might just be true. Bill Murray, the voice actor of Captain Price in the Modern Warfare games let slip to Jason Andrews of ThisIsXbox on a flight from Bodrum to London that he is working on a new Modern Warfare title.

“Yeah, on Monday I am off to meet Infinity Ward about the next game, Modern Warfare 4,” said Murray. “I’m doing work on the sequel to Modern Warfare 3, it carries straight on and I only ever appear in the Modern Warfare games…”

The journalist also posted a picture of himself with Murray (through the link above).

Now, this still isn’t confirmed officially (obviously), and it’s extremely possible that it’s not exactly a Modern Warfare game, but an entirely new CoD title featuring Captain Price as a character, like Call of Duty 1 and 2 did before the Modern Warfare games. But this still is pretty concrete evidence that MW4 might just be a real thing.

With the way the story ended in Modern Warfare 3, it seemed all pretty conclusive, and closure was definitely provided, so it’ll be interesting to see how Infinity Ward continue the story in Modern Warfare 4 satisfactorily.

This year’s CoD title, Black Ops 2 by Treyarch, will be releasing mid-November for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and a few days later for the Wii U when it launches.

The ad aired at 2.30pm and one viewer had reported her toddler had been scared by the advert.

The advert was cleared for broadcast by Clearcast on the basis it wasn’t shown during or adjacent to programmes aimed at the under 16s. Not only that, but the BBFC had rated the advert PG for broadcast, so the ASA’s decision to reprimand Activision a whole 8 months after the event has been met with a backlash.

If aired again, the ASA have expressed that the advert shouldn’t be broadcast before 7.30pm.

Looks like this could be the weakspot people were expecting to spot in the juggernaut CoD franchise. But it still doesn’t change the fact that it is the best selling video game of 2011, considering the sales were extremely frontloaded.

Activision announced that they made $775 million from Modern Warfare 3 sales in the first 5 days from its launch in November, and while that is higher than the one recorded by Black Ops, it’s the month of January 2012 that exposed its weakness, if the figures released by NPD are to be believed.

Yes, it sold 50% less than Black Ops did in January 2011. It recorded 386,000 sales compared to 750,000 units shifted by Black Ops in the month.

While analysts expected Modern Warfare 3 to smoke Black Ops life-time sales after the explosive launch, it seems that it may end up selling less after all. Black Ops sold 23 million across all platforms according to Activision, but passing 20 million in sales is no mean feat either.

It’s no secret that Modern Warfare 3 has been hit with heavy competition from EA’s Battlefield 3, which sold 10 million units according to the latest figures from EA. The MW3 domination in November 2011 still makes it damn impressive, though.

Thanks for sending this in, Ryan!

In a shocking reveal, the worlds no. 1 player with 150,000 kills actually turns out to be the arrested Megaupload owner, Kim Dotcom.

Yes, the man who was on the FBI most wanted pirate list, was supposedly the best CoD player before he got arrested, and we have the video as well, which shows him celebrating his achievement.

This is not an easy thing to do, as you may all know how many people play the game, but looks like this guy had skills to outperform all of them. His online id is MEGARACER and his real name is Kim Shmitz aka Kim Dotcom, but you may all be familiar with him by now.

He has more than $175 million and a shitload of things that would make you green with envy. But I guess that gave him a lot of time to play Modern Warfare 3.

Check out the video, which shows him… err, celebrating.

Why do people cheat? Well, it’s not that hard to explain, is it? Modern Warfare 3 is a game that is played by millions of gamers, so flashing that e-peen online definitely must feel good to these guys. And then the eventual ban happens, and the eventual crying, “Bwaah, I didn’t do it”, “Infinity Ward […]

Why do people cheat? Well, it’s not that hard to explain, is it? Modern Warfare 3 is a game that is played by millions of gamers, so flashing that e-peen online definitely must feel good to these guys.

And then the eventual ban happens, and the eventual crying, “Bwaah, I didn’t do it”, “Infinity Ward sucks, Treyarch is the best.” The second quote is true, though.

So what happened here is that, Infinity Ward has been handing out bans for 5000 days. Yes, 5000 days. That most likely means you’re perma banned. As you know boosting is a form of cheating, and one that can result in losing your account.

A guy here has bought 6 PS3s and 6 copies of Modern Warfare 3 to… boost. Now why would anyone spend so much money on doing that is just bewildering. Are video games really that important to these people?

5000 days = 14 years, but that probably won’t stop these boosters, since they don’t have any attachment to their accounts and can easily buy a new console. But seeing them whine about getting banned is absolutely hilarious.

For example check out this guy below:

Modern Warfare 3 makes $1 billion in 16 days, earlier than Avatar which took 17 days.

“Engagement of our Call of Duty audience continues to rise around the world” according to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. “Call of Duty as an entertainment franchise has made an indelible mark on popular culture and its broad and continued success is further validation that audiences increasingly value interactive experiences over passive experiences.”

“Call of Duty has become that rare entertainment franchise that transcends its own genre. Core gamers love it, as our stellar reviews show. But every year, new people are drawn into Call of Duty.

“And while the franchise continues to set records, our fans still seem to want more, demonstrated by our record setting start on Call of Duty Elite. We are committed to helping everyone connect, compete and improve their game, Call of Duty style,” added Hirshberg.
