The newest update will introduce Storm Crystals, new planets, and much more.

After the trailer leaked prematurely, Hello Games’ Sean Murray has officially unveiled Visions, the next big update for No Man’s Sky. Patch notes have also been released, confirming the new planets, new biomes, and procedurally generated crashed freighters that can be raided. Even better, the update is out on November 22nd – that’s tomorrow.

Some new screenshots can be gleaned below as well, which showcase some of the new things that players will be doing, like archaeology. Fancy digging up some alien remains and artefacts to add to your collection or increase your funds? Or maybe you’d like to send out some fireworks in celebration? The latest update has all of this and more.

No Man’s Sky: Visions offers some interesting incentives for those seeking danger. Brave the hazardous storms on planets with extreme weather conditions and you can earn new Storm Crystals. These can be traded for a “small fortune”. New hazardous flora, like carnivorous trap plants and bloated gas flora, can also be found. Deal with them properly and reap additional substance rewards.

Check out the full patch notes below, which include some bug fixes as well.

VISIONS: INTRODUCING UPDATE 1.75

Discover a more varied, more diverse universe in the Visions update. Introducing new planetary biomes, more colourful worlds, new fauna and flora, archaeology, salvaging, and much more…

NEW PLANETARY BIOMES

New anomalous planet biomes create a weirder, more diverse universe to explore.

NEW CREATURES

Bizarre creatures have evolved on anomalous planets, bringing new life and movement to these eerie landscapes.

LUSH DIVERSITY

The universe has become more alien, vibrant and exciting to explore. New shades of sky and grass enable more unique worlds and a more diverse set of science fiction aesthetics.

WATER VARIATION

New types of water create stranger worlds to be discovered both above and below the surface.

ATMOSPHERIC TYPES AND RAINBOWS

Atmospherics and skies have been improved and stormy weather conditions can now produce rainbows in planetary atmospheres.

EXOTIC TROPHIES

Exotic planets can be searched to discover mysterious artifacts which can be claimed as trophies. These otherworldly objects can be rehoused in habitable bases to create a showcase of your voyages across the universe.

ARCHEOLOGY

With more varied planets come more reasons to explore. Unleash your inner archeologist and search the galaxy for planets containing the ancient bones of alien lifeforms. Complete, intact skeletons are particularly rare and especially valuable.

SALVAGEABLE SCRAP

Unearth the long-forgotten remains of fallen satellites and scrap them for salvagable parts. Explorers must use their multitool to dismantle the reinforced casing and extract the valuable technology within… but risk drawing the attention of new, challenging, corrupted sentinel drones.

STORM CRYSTALS

Those who endure the hazardous storms that blast extreme planets can seek out precious new crystal treasures. These spectacular natural formations become luminescent during the worst weather, and can be collected by intrepid explorers to be traded for a small fortune.

VARIED HAZARDOUS FLORA

New varieties of hazardous flora can now be found sprouting across the galaxies, ready to snare the unwary and reward the cautious. Carnivorous trap plants and bloated gas flora can be eliminated from afar, or carefully approached for extra substance rewards.

SENTIENT MINERALS

Certain planets now feature strange alien rock creatures who will attempt to flee the heat of a mining laser. Mine these runaway minerals to extract concentrated resource rewards.

SHARED COMMUNITY MISSION PROGRESS

A new Community Research mission allows explorers to share progress and work towards a common goal.

Discover the Visions universe together to unlock the new Eye of the Korvax helmet as well as well as new emotes, building parts and a range of fireworks to celebrate any occasion.

CRASHED FREIGHTER VARIATIONS

Crashed freighters are now procedurally generated, with dozens of possible configurations. Explore different crash site layouts and carve a path with your multitool to retrieve the valuable cargo buried nearby.

Patch Notes:

Procedural crash freighters, rainbows, new base parts, and more are also coming.

Hello Games has been on fire with updates for No Man’s Sky this year. After the recent Abyss update, which took the game’s base-building and exploration underwater, the space exploration title will see some new planets, biomes, and much more in Visions. Though the developer hasn’t officially announced it, a trailer for Visions suddenly became available and detailed its features.

Along with new worlds to explore and more planetary biomes, Visions will introduce new fauna, an improved colour palette, and even rainbows. Crashed freighters will be procedurally generated as well, and players can “raid” them (though in what sense remains to be seen). There will also be archaeology involved, as players dig up rare alien skeletons and collect artefacts.

More visual improvements are inbound for skyboxes and atmospherics. Players will also see global community missions sharing progress around the world. If all of this wasn’t enough, new emotes, base parts, tougher environments, and even fireworks will be available. There’s no release date yet (the official page isn’t even live) but expect an announcement soon.
