No Man's Sky - The Abyss

Hello Games recently teased its newest updateThe Abyss for No Man’s Sky, and hyped its release for this week. Well, it’s out now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC with a new trailer showcasing brief snippets of what’s available. Check it out below and marvel at how much the underwater gameplay has been expanded. For the story-minded folk, there’s a new tale called The Dreams of the Deep to check out as well.

With five new underwater biomes, underwater creatures, a monocular mega-fauna that can be pretty dangerous, and new submersible vehicles, there’s a lot to dig into. The new submersible Exocraft can be summoned to any ocean and comes with its own upgrades and customization. Over a dozen new base parts, including glass corridors and the Marine Shelter, can also be used for underwater base building.

Of course, what would an underwater-centric update be without ruins and treasure to find? Wrecked freighters can be salvaged for their cargo, crashed star ships can be restored, and treasure can be found buried in the ocean floor as well. Suffice it to say, there’s quite a lot to explore here. Dare we hope for a Cthulhu reference somewhere?
