It may not have swept the competition but Microsoft's console still offers some great games.

The Xbox One hasn’t seen as much stellar software as the PS4 over the years. However, there’s still a good line-up of console exclusives to experience. Many of them are even available on Xbox Game Pass, offering tons of hours of fun for a low price. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the 25 best Xbox One games of all time, ranked from bottom to top.

Crackdown 3

Okay, so Crackdown 3 isn’t the greatest open world game out there. But it offers a decently sized city with plenty to blow up and lots of different things to do. The Skills for Kills system encourages taking down foes with a variety of weapons and abilities, and hunting down different crime bosses while laying waste to their businesses can be mindless fun. It’s Crackdown-rific, and that may work for certain people.

Going out of your way? Be careful - these bonus areas take no prisoners.

When it comes to pain and suffering, some games are seemingly built on delivering. Not every game wants you to experience sadistic design all throughout though. Sometimes, they tuck it away into special levels, areas, maps and chapters that unleash all manner of suffering. Let’s take a look at the 15 toughest bonus levels in video games.

Hollow Knight – Path of Pain

The White Palace is already a pretty haphazard place full of platforming terrors but necessary for getting the best endings. The Path of Pain, added with the Grimm Troupe DLC, is on another level though. There’s your average range of spikes, buzz-saws, thorns and whatnot but this area tests your mastery of bouncing off obstacles with the Nail. Even if you happen to get through it all, there are two Kingsmoulds waiting to be fought.

The Metroidvania title will release on September 27th for Switch.

Wrapping up its Indie World presentation, Nintendo confirmed that Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition was coming to Nintendo Switch. Developed by Moon Studios, the Metroidvania title is currently available for Xbox One and PC. However, it’s coming to the Switch on September 27th.

This the second Xbox One-exclusive title to come to the Switch after Cuphead released several months ago. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition includes the base game but adds an “Easy” difficulty option along with “One Life” mode. It also allows for fast-traveling between spirit wells in the overworld along with new areas, artwork and more.

Moon Studios is also working on the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It releases on February 11th, 2020 for Xbox One and PC. If its predecessor is successful on the Switch, we just might see the sequel make the jump as well. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Want a game that deletes your progress or itself? We have the list for you!

Video games can provide a range of experiences and if modern triple-A titles are anything to go by, a singular playthrough can become quite long. However, what if you encountered a game that removed all your save data, either under specific circumstances or for fun? What about games that simply deleted themselves entirely? Would you still have that experience, if only in your memories? Let’s take a look at 14 such games here.

Doki Doki Literature Club

Unless you’re looking for some real nightmare fuel, Doki Doki Literature Club probably isn’t the best game to hop into. Charmingly disarming at first, the game quickly degenerates into a meta horror fest. We won’t spoil how but by the end, the game will delete almost all of its files, requiring a reinstall to play it again. If you delete the “firstrun” file though and select “Yes” when restarting the game, then you can do it all over again. Just Monika. All over again.

With some neat goodies thrown in the package, to boot.

The re-release of last year’s excellent Ori ad the Blind Forest will be getting a release at retail stores next month, publisher Nordic Games announced today. What’s more, it won’t be just the Xbox One version that makes it to the high street, either- Ori will become on of those increasingly rare PC games that will also be sold at brick and mortar stores.

Nordic will be handling the PC release of the game, which will retail in two versions- a standard edition for $19.99, which will include the game and a collectible poster, and a limited edition ($29.99) that includes a special Steelbook case, the soundtrack, two posters, and two postcards with artwork from the game. Meanwhile, Microsoft will handle publishing of the Xbox One physical release of Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, which will retail for $19.99 and also release on June 14th, 2016.

Hopefully, this exposes this already wonderful game to an even wider audience than it must have had so far. Ori is a gem of a game, and it certainly deserves to be played by as many players as is possible.

After a significant delay, Moon Studios’ Ori and The Blind Forest Definitive Edition is finally coming to PC. It will be out on April 27th.

The developer stated that, “Immediately after the release of Ori and the Blind Forest, we heard cries from fans asking for even more content. Instead of ‘just’ releasing DLC, we decided to craft an entirely new package that includes both the new content as well as features that fans have asked us to add to the original game. We spent almost an entire year on this new release of Ori and the Blind Forest and hope that we have now delivered the ultimate Ori experience for all of our fans out there!”

If you already own the standard version then you can upgrade to the Definitive Edition for just $5 (the full game costs $20). Cross platform saves with the Xbox One version are also supported so if you want to move your original save to the PC, it’s totally possible.

Along with new areas, abilities and story elements, the Definitive Edition introduces a new Easy difficulty mode.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition was announced earlier this month but this week we got a few more details about the game, including what we can expect to pay. Moon Studios released a bit more information about this game. We already knew this version of the game is coming Friday, March 11 but now we know that we will only have to pay $19.99 in order to get the definitive edition.

Those who already own the original Ori and the Blind Forest will be able to upgrade for just $4.99. This will allow them to have everything that comes in the original game, as well as the extra stuff in the definitive edition. If there is a bit of bad news for fans of the game, it’s that this version of the title is going to be coming to the Xbox One really soon, but there isn’t yet a release date for the PC.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is coming exclusively to the Xbox One on March 11, 2016 and to the PC sometime later.

Get another shot at playing this beautiful game.

Ori and the Blind Forest was one of the best games last year- the gorgeous and atmospheric platformer was a delight to play through, and it was great to see a game that deserved recognition get the kind of fame and success, critical and commercial, that it deserved for a change.

Ori was apparently so big for Microsoft that they are bringing it back- Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition will be launching for Windows 10 PCs as well as Xbox One on March 11, and it will come with a multitude of new features and additions:

Packed with new and additional content: new areas, new abilities, more story sequences, multiple difficulty modes, fast travel between areas and much more!

Discover Naru’s past in two brand new environments

Master two powerful new abilities – Dash and Light Burst

Find new secret areas and explore Nibel faster by teleporting between Spirit Wells

So basically, if you haven’t already played Ori (in which case, shame on you!), then this is the way to do it. If you already have? This may not be a bad purchase for you regardless.

You can check out eight minutes of gameplay from the Definitive Edition below.

"Potentially" new abilities, mechanics and new areas will be added.

If you haven’t had a chance to experience Moon Studios’ excellent platform Ori and the Blind Forest, then you’re in luck – a Definitive Edition of the game will launch this Fall for Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam.

According to director Thomas Pahler, the Definitive Edition will have new areas and mechanics. It also seems that Moon Studios will be adding “potentially” new abilities. Expect more information on other changes and additions when the Definitive Edition approaches it Fall release.

It’s also interesting to note that Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb on Twitter referred to the game receiving an “expansion” later this year. Perhaps the expansion will be available separately for current owners and packaged together with the Definitive Edition for new players?

Ori and the Blind Forest released earlier this year on Xbox One and PC. It received great praise for its visual style, story-telling and challenging platforming mechanics. What are your thoughts on the upcoming new content? Let us know in the comments.
