WWE 2K25 released earlier this year and added a new 2K Showcase focused on The Bloodline, while Persona 5 Tactica serves as a turn-based strategy spin-off for the main series. Green Hell is a brutal survival experience in the Amazon, and Fate/Samurai Remnant is a new hack-and-slash title offshoot co-developed by Omega Force of Hyrule Warriors fame.

Crow Country is an acclaimed PlayStation One-style survival horror inspired by Resident Evil and Silent Hill. PS5 owners can also check out sci-fi adventure The Invincible and top-down survival horror Conscript. Meanwhile, Premium subscribers will have access to Legacy of Kain: Defiance on both platforms. As a new title in the vaunted action-adventure series, it features both Kain and Raziel as playable characters.

Atlus has announced that the Persona 5 series has now sold over 10 million units worldwide across all platforms. That includes sales for Persona 5 itself, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, and the recently released Persona 5 Tactica. As of June, prior to the latter’s launch, the series’ sales stood at 9 million units, so clearly it has enjoyed a healthy bump thanks to the tactics RPG’s release.

Currently, there’s no official word on whether Atlus has more Persona 5 spinoffs planned, though series fans do have Persona 3 Reload to look forward to, which is out for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in February.

As a turn-based tactical strategy RPG, Persona 5 Tactica sees players engaging in battles with teams of three characters. Each can utilize melee, ranged attacks and Persona to exploit enemy weaknesses and knock them down. Like the mainline series, you can fuse Persona for more powerful combinations.

In addition to regular stages, quests with unique objectives that provide GP for your Skill Trees are also available. Completing conditions in stages also grants money and XP and can be replayed to farm the same. If that weren’t enough, you can also carry over progress into a New Game Plus playthrough. Here here more details on the day one DLC, which includes Akechi and Kasumi as playable characters.

Perhaps the most significant is Persona 5 Tactica, Atlus’ turn-based tactics spinoff, which will be available on Game Pass (via console, cloud, and PC), on the day of its release later this week, November 17. Meanwhile, later in the month, subscribers will get two more games.

On November 28, Roll7 and Private Division’s acclaimed rollerskating shooter Rollerdrome will be added to Game Pass to go along with its Xbox release. On the same day, 4K strategy title Dune: Spice Wars will make its console debut, and will be available on Game Pass (via console and cloud) right from day one. It’s also been available to PC Game Pass subscribers for some time.

Some stages include moving a box to the goal using melee attacks and explosives everywhere. Completing them will grant GP for spending in skill trees and the ability to create a stronger Persona. There’s also the Replay feature for revisiting previous stages to earn the XP, money and Persona. You can also partake in bonus challenges.

There are three in total, with conditions like clearing a stage in a certain number of turns or without allies going down. Complete them all for more money and XP. Finally, there’s New Game Plus for carrying over any unlocked Persona fusions, cash, weapons and more into a new playthrough. You can complete the Compendium or try a higher difficulty, just like other Persona titles.

Of course, there’s also some Special Art in addition to all the other unlockable concept art and illustrations. Persona 5 Tactica launches on November 17th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Plenty of combat is showcased, showing off a variety of locations that we’ll be seeing in Persona 5 Tactica, a number of the enemies we’ll be fighting against, and the different moves and abilities for several characters in the roster. The trailer also offers several new glimpses of the game’s main cast, including plenty of familiar faces from the original Phantom Thieves group, as well as newcomers like Erina and Toshiro.

Meanwhile, the final few seconds of the trailer also showcase another brief glimpse of Repaint Your Heart, the paid day one DLC episode that will focus on Goro Akechi and Kasumi Yoshizawa. You can view the trailer below.

The trailer showcases each character’s special abilities and specialisations. For example, Ann’s abilities revolve around causing the Burn effect on enemies, and her special attack lets players deliver bombs to enemies that might be hiding in cover. Ryuji, on the other hand, uses a shotgun, lightning spells to apply the Shock effect, and has a special ability that can attack multiple enemies in a straight, wide line.

The first character spotlight trailer released for Persona 5 Tactica back in July showed off new character Toshiro Kasukabe. A young member of the National Diet, rumours indicate that Kasukabe might be next in line to become the Prime Minister. He has been described as having “a serious and argumentative personality”.

Persona 5 Tactica is slated for release on November 17, and will be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. An earlier trailer for the game has confirmed that Kasumi and Akechi will be present in the game as day one DLC.

On Atlus’ side, though Metaphor: ReFantazio – which launches sometime in 2024 – isn’t mentioned, two upcoming Persona titles will be part of the lineup in Persona 5 Tactica, which launches this November, and Persona 3 Reload, which is out in February.

Meanwhile, Sega, too, will be leaving out a major title in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but again, will have plenty to show off with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Amplitude Studios’ Endless Dungeon, and of course, Sonic Superstars.

Sega and Atlus’ TGS lineup will also include several third party titles from partner publishers, including Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged and Payday 3 from Plaion and EA Sports FC 24 from, well, EA Sports.

Before TGS kicks off, Sega and Atlus will also be streaming a special media broadcast on September 21, 3 AM PT.

On September 20, during an event that will begin with a special screening of Persona 3 The Movie: #1 Spring of Birth, Atlus will also hold a media briefing. During the presentation, the company will be talking about upcoming titles that are due out in the current fiscal year (which ends on March 31 next year), which includes Persona 5 Tactica, which launches in November, and Persona 3 Reload, which is scheduled to release in February.

Atlus has said that it won’t be announcing any new games during the media briefing, so don’t go expecting to hear anything about Persona 6 or what have you. Whether or not we’ll be hearing about Metaphor: Refantazio, which is due out sometime in 2024, remains to be seen.

After previously having shown the new Marie Kingdom the Phantom Thieves will find themselves in in the spinoff, the new trailer turns its attention to the Japan-inspired Yoshiki Kingdom. Plenty of characters also get the spotlight, including familiar faces like Makoto, Futaba, and Yusuke, and newcomers like Toshiro Kasukabe. Meanwhile, the trailer also offers new glimpses at the game’s XCOM-like combat, some of the bigger bosses you’ll be fighting, the Persona Fusion mechanics, and more. Check it out below.

Atlus has also confirmed, true to previous leaks, that fan-favourite characters Goro Akechi and Kasumi Yoshizawa will be added to the game as day one DLC. Called Repaint Your Heart, the episode will be paid DLC (1,690 yen in Japan), and also include exclusive weapons and Personas.
