Had fun with Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies on the 3DS? Get your gavel out again because Capcom has announced that Level-5 will be bringing the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney games to the 3DS. The trio of titles originally released on the Game Boy Advance and were subsequently ported over to the DS so this will mark their third release.

According to Famitsu, all three games will be part of a compilation titled Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection and will release for the 3DS on April 17th. Interestingly, though no Western release has been announced, there is an English option for players. Odd? Sure. But it at least means that if localization does eventually happen, it won’t take very long.

Just in case you weren’t up to speed; a Phoenix Wright movie is in the works with Hiroki Narimiya  playing the ace attorney and with the legendarily prolific Takashi Miike directing. Here is a full length trailer for the movie. The film is slated to open in Japan on February 11th 2012.

No objections here! Capcom actually did it; Phoenix Wright will be in Ultimate MvC3 and they actually managed to build a series of themed attacks around his usual case winning and crime solving. I do like it at 1:11 where he pronounces his opponent guilty, though the inadvert evidence gathering attack and literally brining the hammer down also raise a smile. There is also a tonne of other Pheonix Wright clips on the official MvC3 youtube channel.

Check out this trailer for the upcoming Layton/Phoenix Wright crossover. The game follows Phoenix as he defends a girl accused of practicing witchcraft. The title has been officially announced for a US release and an international release has been widely rumoured.
