Ravenlok, Weird West: Definitive Edition, and Shadowrun Trilogy Coming to Game Pass in May

Microsoft announced the first wave of Game Pass titles releasing in May, starting with Arkane Austin’s Redfall. It’s out today on Xbox Series X/S, PC and the cloud, and already received some rough reviews. Check out ours here.

Other new titles include Ravenlok, Cococucumber’s upcoming action RPG. Available May 4th for consoles, PC and the cloud, it sees players fighting to liberate a fantasy world, solving puzzles and banishing evil with a sword and spells. On May 8th, Weird West: Definitive Edition goes live for Xbox Series X/S, bringing tons of quality-of-life improvements to the base experience.

Shadowrun Trilogy goes live on May 9th for PC and collects all three of Harebrained Schemes’ titles – Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Dragonfall and Shadowrun: Hong Kong – in one package. On May 11th, CyberConnect2’s Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 goes live for PC, consoles and the cloud, offering a new turn-based strategy experience with a new story.

Ravenlok Launches May 4th, New Gameplay Revealed

Ravenlok, the next game from Cococumber of Echo Generation fame, launches on May 4th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC (via the Microsoft Store and Epic Games Store). Retailing for $24.99, it’s also playable on Game Pass at launch. Check out the latest trailer below, which highlights some characters and combat.

Ravenlok is about Kira, who moves with her family to the countryside and discovers a mirror to the Realm of Dunia. With a sword and shield, she becomes Ravenlok and fights to free the realm from the despotic queen. The Alice in Wonderland similarities are obvious, but the action RPG also takes cues from the works of Tolkien and Studio Ghibli.

As producer/director Vanessa Chia says, “Growing up in Malaysia, classics by J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Studio Ghibli allowed me to open a portal into another world, into a realm of imagination and possibilities. Through this fable about the fight for a creative life, we hope that the adventures of Ravenlok can bring a sense of escapism and joy to all.”

Along with hacking and slashing, Kira can use potions, magical bombs and spells to take out enemies. On Xbox Series X, the title supports 4K resolution and 60 FPS and looks pretty clean. Stay tuned for more details en route to release.

The past week has seen several reveals, from new gameplay to brand new game announcements. New strategy games, Metroidvanias, action RPG – there’s a lot in store for the coming year. Let’s take a look at 14 of the more interesting new titles here.

Ravenlok

Cococucumber’s Ravenlok is the third title in its Voxel Trilogy – an action RPG set in a fantasy world reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. You’ll explore various realms, battle different monsters and bosses, complete quests, and discover new weapons and skills, all to defeat the Caterpillar Queen. It sounds straightforward but thus far, the visuals and gameplay look pretty compelling. Ravenlok is out in 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC along with Xbox Game Pass.

Cococucumber, known for the turn-based adventure game Echo Generation, has announced a brand new title – Ravenlok. Releasing in 2023, it’s a fairy tale action RPG that embodies the same voxel art style. Check out the first trailer below.

The story is about a young girl named Ravenlok, who discovered a magic mirror and ends up in a new land. After being cursed by the Caterpillar Queen, she begins her quest to fight back and save the kingdom. Along with various realms to explore, there are also different weapons to discover and skills to unlock.

There’s a real Alice in Wonderland vibe to many of the characters, though our hero will also encounter various overwhelming bosses like a mechanized hawk. Along with releasing for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC (via the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store), Ravenlok is also coming to Game Pass on day one.
